A Personal Healing With Homeopathy

I am a homeopath. I am a patient too. I see a homeopath. I don’t self treat for homeopathic care. I may self treat for first aid, and there were several times I did for chronic conditions, but I don’t now. I cannot be objective, nor can I really hear and observe myself. I can’t wear two hats at the same time – the patient and the homeopath.

My Story

This last week, my homeopath gave me a new homeopathic remedy. This happens. The homeopath sees the case deeper, some things change, or there is a better understanding of the person’s complaints and suffering. A different homeopathic remedy is needed than to what was given before. This new homeopathic remedy was in the same family, the same kingdom, of the one I had just be taking. The former homeopathic remedy had helped, but did not heal as deeply as is possible with homeopathy.

With taking this new homeopathic remedy, an old condition or symptom that I had before, came back. I had suppressed this condition, this situation by using antibiotics when it had first occurred. With the process of healing from a homeopathic remedy, the vital force, the chi, the immune system, becomes stronger, and the symptoms or conditions that were suppressed by the use of medications, such as antibiotics and steroids (cream and oral form) may come back. These symptoms/conditions come back for a short time, and then they are gone. It is healing. In a previous blog, I had written about THE DIRECTION OF CURE. That is what this is. It is a good sign that the remedy is helping and healing, stimulating the person’s own healing process.

That is what was happening with me. The antibiotics that I had taken had been suppressive, and now there was a return of older symptoms/conditions, seashell-754014_640as I was healing. I knew that was what was happening to me, and it was a good thing. I contacted my homeopath and told him, and he agreed with me. In fact what he said was “this is a good thing”. I slept. I took care of the area that was affected. I took care of me. I wasn’t very hungry, but what I did eat was of plant type food, so to speak. Vegetarian. Nourishing food. Life giving food.

Yes, there is a place and a need for antibiotics. They can be extremely helpful, and life saving. And, they can be overused. When I had this situation originally, I could have treated it homeopathically. I didn’t. At first, I didn’t know what was going on with the discomfort and the pain that I was experiencing, and I waited. Then I went to the doctor. The doctor prescribed antibiotics. This happens.

Healing

With the healing of old, suppressed symptoms and conditions, the body, the chi, the vital force, the person, becomes stronger and healthier. This healing affects the whole person, on all levels – the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual. It is all good. Homeopathy creates a deep healing. It is a healing at the root from where the symptoms and conditions come.

Much of what western medicine does in its treatment can be suppressive. Yes, the person feels better because the symptoms are not as strong, the itch may be gone, the pain may be gone, but only for a short time until the medication is taken again. We may very often think that a healing has occurred if we no longer have the symptoms, or have less of them, but we need to take a medication often and regularly so there are no symptoms. This isn’t a healing. It is a palliating, and can also be suppressing too.

Healing With Homeopathy

For me, this experience shows how well homeopathy heals, and how well it addresses each of us, as the individual person we are. My health concern was heard, observed, and understood. The homeopathic remedy given to me, being similar to what I was experiencing (Like Cures Like) stimulated my own body to heal. To heal, not to palliate, not to ease the symptoms, and not to suppress. To heal.

I invite you to heal. Very simple. Contact me here through this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I have a complimentary Get Acquainted Call.

The Direction of Cure: How Homeopathy Assesses Healing, in Regards to Asthma and Eczema

In the Tuesday, May 14, 2013 Health section of the U-T San Diego, there was an article on asthma. The title of the article is REPEL THE ASTHMA ATTACK. It is written by Beth Wood.  There is a quote by Dr. John Kelso, an Allergist at Scripps Health’s Division of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. This quote caught my eye.

Dr. Kelso says, “Eczema, food allergy, hay fever and asthma are lumped together because if a patient has one, it’s a threefold chance that they have the other. They are genetically linked.”  Here is the the link to the article if you would like to read it in full:  http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/may/13/repel-the-asthma-attack/

I was excited by this quote. This quote was expressing how homeopathy often sees these four health concerns. The rest of the article talks about asthma using western methods for treatment, so it is not an article on homeopathy.

In homeopathy, we often see the connection between eczema and asthma. If a person is using a cortisone type cream for their eczema, they may develop asthmatic symptoms as the eczema seems to be going away. The disturbance that manifests in the person having eczema is actually going deeper into the body as a result of the cortisone cream treatments. The skin may be looking better and the person may feel that they are better in regards to the eczema, but now the person may be experiencing breathing difficulties, such as in asthma, and/or sensitivities to different foods, such as in food allergies. This is not a healing. The cortisone creams has been very suppressive. The disturbance has gone deeper into the body and affecting more life threatening organs.

What is happening in this situation, is the opposite to the Direction of Cure or Hering’s Law. Dr. Constantine Hering was a well known homeopath living in the 1800’s. Through his observations of patients’ healing, he came to certain conclusions on how the healing process progresses. These conclusions are called The Direction of Cure or Hering’s Law. Knowing Hering’s Law, helps the homeopath to assess how the patient is healing.

The Direction of Cure or Hering’s Law states that healing takes place:

  • From center to the circumference –  moving from the center to the outer. This means the symptoms are moving away from the brain, which is the center and the seat of consciousness, reasoning abilities, and memory. The brain is responsible for all the other functions of the human being.
  • From above downward  –  moving from the head down the body. This pertains mostly to skin conditions. Eruptions move from the head towards the extremities. Think when you have a rash, how it may start on the chest area and then it moves down the body, often leaving the body through the hands and feet.
  • From vital organs to less vital organs. There is a hierarchy of the organs in terms of their importance for life: brain, central nervous system, endocrine system, liver, lungs (there are two), kidneys (two), bones, connective tissue, stomach, intestines, muscles and skin.
  • In the reverse order of appearance (the last symptoms to come/to be experienced are the first to go).

Each of us is a whole, unique person. Our symptoms are expressions of an imbalance in the wholeness of us, just manifesting in a particular area in which we have great sensitivity. In a healing, we want the wholeness of the person to be better. And yes, homeopathy is extremely helpful for people who experience asthma, eczema, hay fever and food allergies.  Homeopathy creates a healing, rather than just managing, alleviating or palliating the symptoms.
