Present Moment

This is a quote from Pema Chodron. I used this quote in a previous post –BE Where You Are. I wanted to use this quote again.

Welcome the present moment as if you had invited it. It is all we ever have so we might as well work with gull in flightit rather than struggle against it. We might as well make it our friend and teacher rather than our enemy.”

I like what she says about working with and making the present moment your friend. To use it. To learn from it. To see what it has to offer.

When I see a patient, I am seeing how they are in their present moment. Past illnesses, traumas, emotional upsets, older physical symptoms along with symptoms or the health issue they brought the patient make up this present moment. I call this present moment, the totality of the person. Totalities change, just like present moments change.

The present moment is where we start. It is an unfolding process. Often a series of homeopathic remedies are used as the healing process unfolds. The unfolding reflects a deeper understanding of what the person is experiencing. Each homeopathic remedy helps in this process, moving it along.

Over this past year of 2021, I have seen people of all ages, 9 months to 81 years, for many different health issues. Some people sought out homeopathic care for physical issues, and some for emotional issues. Very often, the physical and the emotional issues are interwoven. All the symptoms are part of the totality of the person.

These are some of the health issues that brought people in for homeopathic care during this year of 2021. issues:

Menstrual issues
Chronic pain
Digestive issues
Reaction to vaccines
Extreme pain and sensitivity to noise and sounds
First aid – healing from a surgery, fall, cut on an arm
A trauma – emotional, physical
Internal bleeding

Just not feeling well

BE Where You Are – Homeopathy Helps

Sometimes there are times in our lives when things are just stressful in many areas. We have be where you areto go somewhere, we have to help out someone, old feelings and responses come up, old stories are spinning in our heads. And we just have to do it. At these times, I think we try to do all sorts of things to help us feel better, to help us sleep, to help us handle the situation. These things could be exercise, yoga, natural medications, supplements, homeopathy, meditation, eating something we really, really love, like chocolate, having a stiff drink, etc. And all these things help, and they don’t help. Perhaps it is to just accept where we are, what needs to be done, cry if we need to, talk to friends, be nice to ourselves, laugh, scream, and accept how it is. That it isn’t forever.  Be where you are.

A Patient

A patient of mine is helping her mother move from her home that she has lived in for almost 18 years. A home that her mother loves, but it is just too big and too much to care for. The mother is moving into an assisted/retirement community that she has chosen. She will live in an apartment, the most independent type of place they have there. She doesn’t need assistance, but the assistance is there when she may need it. This is the situation. The facts so to speak. Be where you are.

For my patient, she wants to help. And it brings up things of her own. Things of the past. And she has her own responses to it as well, that show up emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Acceptance, patience, gratitude, anger, laughter, resentment, happiness, crying, sadness, fear, confusion, observance of self.  These are all human feelings, and they come up. Accept them.  Be where you are.

Homeopathy Helps

As a homeopath, I know that these human responses are usual. They are on the human level. And in addition to these, there are the automatic responses that each of us have when we are stressed, or in a stressful situation. I think this is where homeopathy helps. Homeopathy doesn’t change the situation and it doesn’t necessarily change our responses to the situation, at the time, but it helps in that it gives some ease, by giving us a little distance, as if we say to ourselves, “oh, I see what I am doing and feeling”. Like we are witnessing ourselves. Be where you are.

A Quote

A friend and colleague posted this quote of Pema Chodron on Facebook. It seems so fitting to what I am writing here. It may be easier to say than to do.

“Welcome the present moment as if you had invited it. It is all we ever have so we might as well work with it rather than struggle against it. We might as well make it our friend and teacher rather than our enemy.”

Be where you are.

I am always happy to talk to people about homeopathy, and how it can be helpful for some many of the health concerns people experience these days. Either contact me here on this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com  I offer a 15+ minute Get Acquainted Phone Call.
