There Is Hope For A Healing

I read my posts often and see that I repeat myself, writing the same things over and over again. It is getting homeopathy out to people. And I probably will continue doing that.

What I really want to say, in addition to staying in touch with you, is …

To tell you that you have choices regarding your health care.

That homeopathy can be part of your health care. It can be one of your choices, and work with other healing modalities you may use.

That a healing can happen, not just a maintaining.         im - possible

That it takes time. Healing is a process.

That you can be heard.

That we are all individuals, and experience what bothers us, uniquely to us.

That it is not a one size fits all.

That I often see people who have tried other healing modalities, and are not feeling better. At this time, they come to homeopathy.

That there is hope.

Over these last 18 months, almost 2 years now, what has grounded me during this time, is my knowledge of homeopathy. I feel, I know, that homeopathy can help and heal so many of the health issues that people experience today, including the coronavirus and some of the repercussions from it. Maybe I am naive. I think rather I am hopeful and I have confidence in homeopathy. I want to get homeopathy out to you, and out to the world.

If I can be of help to you or a loved one, of any age, regarding a health issue, please contact me here or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I offer a complimentary 15+ minute Get Acquainted Call to see if this is something you would like to pursue. I see patients in person and virtually.

Wanting To Be Heard

Wanting to be heard.

I am always reminded of this. With my patients. With my interactions with people. With myself.

We want to be heard. Sometimes we want to be agreed with, to be acknowledged, to be validated, to say out loud what is going around in our heads. to share, to just say.

When I said this to a friend, that I want to be heard, she said we want to be loved. hearts transparent

And we want a safe place to be heard.

When I meet with a patient, finding out what is bothering them, taking their case, many people talk. They usually talk about a lot of things, in addition to what brought them in to homeopathy.

Wanting to be heard:

  • A patient’s mother said to me that this is the first time someone agreed with her that there is a connection between the brain/mind/head and the gut. Her son was my patient.
  • Another patient said, this is the first time a health practitioner has really listened to what I am experiencing with my health.
  • Another asked me how do you feel about this? I answered, you are taking care of your health, and doing what you feel is right for you. I think what the person was really wanting was to open a conversation about something that was bothering them, which was how their family felt about their choices about health, not that she necessarily wanted my opinion.
  • A patient told me when she said to her husband go see Pam, it was not just for his health concern, but for someone to listen to him.
  • A man was telling me about a painful event in his life. He was filled with so many emotions, expressed on his face, through his gestures, and his words.
  • Many times a patient is given a name or a diagnosis to what they are experiencing. They have used different healing modalities, yet are not feeling better. In the homeopathic process, THEIR particular symptoms are heard, along with the general symptoms of the name/diagnosis. I would like to say that they are being heard, not the name/diagnosis.

At the beginning of the appointment, I always ask first, why are you here? What is bothering you? Often, the name or the diagnosis is stated, then the symptoms, and then more about how they experiencing this health issue. These are some of the health issues (the name or diagnosis) that have brought people in for homeopathy: warts, eczema, depression, grief, anxiety, stomachaches, nausea, hormonal issues, menstrual issues, painful to hear sounds of any kind, shingles, fatigue, sinus pressure, coughs, and flus.

I invite you to contact me about a health issue you or a loved one may be experiencing, to see if homeopathy is a healing modality you would like to pursue. You can contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I offer a complimentary Get Acquainted Call.

An Emotional Event In Our Life Can Bring On Symptoms

An emotional event is a trauma. I have written about physical traumas, and how homeopathy can be helpful after an accident, injury, surgery, fall, dental work. Homeopathy is also helpful after emotional traumas.

An emotional trauma could be a loss, an abuse, a bullying, a fear, a regret, a feeling of shame, a feeling of guilt, a cookie heartfeeling of not carrying out what they believe is their responsibility, a feeling that they need to be perfect, to name a few. A person may develop some physical symptoms after experiencing an emotional upset or scare. Sometimes these emotional upsets are ongoing, and sometimes it is a one time occurrence.

Some of the physical symptoms can be stomachaches, headaches, nausea, difficulty concentrating, difficulty sleeping, menstrual changes, skin eruptions, obsessive behaviors, phobias, fears, anxiety, depression, nightmares, sore throats, breathing difficulties, earaches, colds, flus, autoimmune disorders, and more.

Two People

One night, when my youngest son was about a year old, there was a loud clap of thunder. It sounded as if it was right outside our window. He started to cry. I was holding him and comforting him. He was crying and was scared from this loud noise. A week later, he developed a cold and a fever. I remembered back to the fright that he had experienced from the thunder. I gave him a homeopathic remedy which helped with his cold, the fever and the fright. The loud thunder was so frightening to him. After being so afraid, he become sick with a cold and a fever. This was the emotional event.

A patient lost a very close family member. She was able to function, to work, and to live her life to a point. She expressed that a times she no longer wanted to live. She was in a lot of pain. She told her story of what had happened, filled with so many emotions. Physically, she was experiencing stomach pains, wanting to eat a lot, having headaches, and feeling paralyzed. She felt hopeless. A homeopathic remedy was given to address the emotions and the physical symptoms she was experiencing.

I often ask my patients when I meet with them, did anything happen right before you became sick or started experiencing these symptoms? I ask this question not just when someone has an acute illness like a cold or fever, but also when someone as chronic health issues that they have been experiencing for awhile. Sometimes I don’t need to ask the question, people just tell me what happened to them.

The patient and I together are witnessing the pieces that make up the whole of them, the totality of them at this time. Totalities can change. The emotional state is a piece, a part of the totality. The homeopathic remedy that is similar to this totality is given to assist the person in their healing.

If I can be of help homeopathically to you or a loved one, please contact me here or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I offer a complimentary Get Acquainted Call to see if this is a fit for you. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this information, I would appreciate you passing it on to them. I Have This _____? Can Homeopathy Help Me?

Recently, I was asked if homeopathy could help with plantar fasciitis. She said since she hadn’t read about it on my website, she wondered if homeopathy could help.

I said yes.

I was very glad she had asked about this. I thought perhaps other people may have had the same thought that homeopathy could not help them if they hadn’t read anything written about it in my information, website, blog, and newsletter. Since not seeing the name of it, they may have thought that homeopathy could not help them.

We often need to read specifically what we “have” written about, or to hear a story of someone like us using a particular healing modality before we may consider it. For example to know if homeopathy has helped someone with plantar fasciitis, then someone may look into homeopathy.

Homeopathy focuses on how the individual experiences what is bothering them. When a homeopath meets with a puzzle-14451_960_720person the general and usual symptoms of what is bothering is heard, such as with plantar fasciitis, AND, other symptoms of the individual are heard too. These symptoms can be about their emotional state, other physical symptoms they experience, mental functioning, sleep, dreams, fears and more. All of this, these pieces, are taken together to make up the totality of the person. The totality is what is focused on to heal. The plantar fasciitis is one of the pieces, or several of them.

The given homeopathic remedy is similar to this totality. The main principle of homeopathy is LIKE CURES LIKE, or The Law of Similars. The homeopathic remedy that is given is for the totality of the person, including the plantar fasciitis. This could be said for any “this is what I have”, name of a disease or syndrome that someone is experiencing, autoimmune diseases included. The “have” is a piece of the total picture.

I find that a lot of people have been give a name to what is bothering them. They may be having treatment for it, but are not feeling better. At this point, they may be looking for other healing modalities. That is why they ask me, “I have this __________________,  can homeopathy help me?”

If there is a health issue you or a loved one are experiencing and you haven’t seen anything written about it in my information, I invite you to contact me. Let’s talk. I offer a complimentary Get Acquainted Call or Zoom meeting to see if homeopathy is something you would want to pursue. I see people local to and outside of the San Diego area, and people of all ages, babies to older adults. You can contact me here, or on my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

Each Person’s Healing Process Is Individual To Them

From the beginning of working with a person, I tell them that there most likely will be a series of homeopathic remedies needed, using one at a time. As we work together, I am learning more about them, witnessing, seeing, hearing them. We are doing this together. I always say, it is the person who is healing themselves.

It may be that they need just one or two doses of the first homeopathic remedy. Or they may need several doses of the remedy over a period of time. Or a higher potency or strength of the homeopathic remedy. Or that that the first homeopathic remedy helped, to a point, and brought up other symptoms and now another homeopathic remedy is needed. This may happen several times, the need for a different remedy.

ladder in the woods -4681114_960_720

The image of a ladder has been used by other homeopaths to illustrate a series of homeopathic remedies. One rung is one remedy, the next rung possibly another remedy. The next rung a stronger potency. Next rung, maybe time has passed and the person comes back. And so on.

It is a process, and individual to the person.

The intention is always for a long lasting healing, not a band aid or quick fix that only lasts for a short time. Although sometimes we do need a quick fix for that moment, and then a homeopathic remedy promoting a long lasting healing afterwards.

If I can be of help to you or a loved one regarding a health issue, I encourage you to contact me through this blog or though my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I offer a complimentary 15 minute Get Acquainted Call to see if homeopathy is something you want to pursue regarding your health. .

Being Stuck

Being stuck.

When someone is not feeling well, whether it is an acute illness or an ongoing chronic issue, they are stuck. Stuck in the symptoms they are experiencing, whether they are physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual ones. Not moving stuck-snow-carforward from the symptoms. The symptoms are not changing and the person is not feeling better. There is no movement.

For example, if someone has an acute illness such as a dry, unproductive cough that is lingering and lingering, exhausting the person, we want to see the cough starting to loosen up, becoming a more wetter type of cough. Maybe starting to cough up some mucous, and the nose starting to run. There might even be a rash. This is movement and change. Not being stuck anymore. The person is healing.

With a chronic, ongoing health issue the person lives with the symptoms. There may be flare ups or episodes, and there may times that the person feels better, but then the symptoms come back. The person may think that this will never change, accepting that this is just part of their life or how their life will be. This is being stuck.

I say often to someone who has an acute illness, we want to see change in your symptoms. We want to see movement from what you are experiencing. This is showing that you are healing, no longer being stuck.

A lot of the patients that come to homeopathy are stuck. They are stuck in their symptoms, in their state of ill health. Whether it is skin eruptions, menstrual difficulties, anxiety/depression, fears, breathing difficulties, just not feeling well, sore throats, digestive issues, nausea, pain, arthritis, headaches …. They are stuck.

Homeopathy heals, creating movement, helping someone to become unstuck, so they can live their live fully.

I Feel Grateful – More People Are Coming To Homeopathy

My homeopathic practice has gotten busier. I like that for me. I like that for you, my patients, and for future patients. And I like that for homeopathy.

I have always said, thought and written that there is a need for homeopathy. I think people are starting to see that homeopathy can fill a need they have. They are seeing that homeopathy can be helpful for them. Or at least starting to be more curious about it.heart in sand

I feel very grateful that people are coming. I feel grateful that they are seeing the value of homeopathy, and they are valuing themselves.

A person may be experiencing some health issue that has been bothering them for awhile. They may have used different healing modalities to help, but continue not to feel well. They want to feel better. At this time they are more open to other options for their health care.

In my homeopathic practice, I see babies through older adults for a wide range of health issues  – anxiety, skin eruptions, women’s issues, digestive issues, headaches, pain, sleeping difficulties, fears, nervousness, colds, flus, injuries and more.

Homeopathy looks at the individual and the totality of the person. It is how the person experiences what bothers them, not the name of the syndrome or disease. A homeopathic remedy is given that is similar to what the person is experiencing, stimulating their innate healing ability.

I offer a complimentary 15 minute Get Acquainted Call.  You can contact me here on this blog post or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

“I Feel Anxious”

“I feel anxious.”

We may be hearing more people saying this,  from both adults and children. In this past year, we have been living in anxious cartoonmore uncertain times than usual. From this, some of us are feeling more anxious than usual.

We can’t necessarily change what is happening around us, but we can change and help ourselves in how we response and react to what is going on. There are many different healing modalities that can be helpful for this and when someone feels anxious. Homeopathy is one of them, and homeopathy can be used along with these other healing modalities.

Feeling Anxious

One girl experiences severe stomach aches and nausea. She doesn’t want to eat. She feels very anxious and is very concerned about her family members.

A woman feels out of control. Cries a lot. She feels very anxious. Notices that she is eating a lot, out of feeling anxious and she isn’t hunger.

Most of the time when someone comes to homeopathic care there is a particular physical issue that is bothering them.  As they talk, they may say “I feel anxious”. As a homeopath, I want to know what this anxiousness is like for this person. For example:

  • What do they mean by anxious?
  • How do they feel anxious in their body?
  • Any physical symptoms? Stomachaches, headaches, rashes. difficulty breathing, sleeping difficulties, dreams, behaviors, thoughts, fears.  What are these like?
  • What triggers the anxious feeling?
  • How do they react or respond when they feel anxious way?
  • What do they do when they feel anxious?
  • Is there an image to this anxious feeling?

We are not a one size fits all. That is the same with helping someone when they feel anxious. IT is finding out about them.

Homeopathy Helps Children

I see many children in my homeopathic practice – babies through teenagers.

Children respond well to homeopathy. Adults do too.

To start using homeopathy when someone is young, when they are a child, is wonderful. It is side stepping possibly many years of medications and treatments that can be very invasive. (Some medications may be needed, and it is always important to monitor medications with one’s physician.)

Homeopathy simulates the person’s innate three girlshealing ability. Children have a wonderful immune system. They have a strong vital force/vitality, and respond well to homeopathy.

These are some of the health issues that children have come to homeopathy for:

  • anxiety – depression
  • skin eruptions – warts (you have read a recent post on this), eczema, acne
  • coronavirus
  • delayed talking
  • ADHD
  • digestive issues  – stomach aches
  • fears – ranging from a scary monster in their room to fear of losing a loved one
  • nightmares
  • difficulty sleeping
  • injuries – falls, traumas, bites, emotional or physical abuse, reactions from toxic substances in our environment, vaccines
  • ear infections, colds, fevers, coughs, sore throats
  • teething
  • thrush
  • emotional and behavioral issues
  • certain actions and behaviors – such as running away, constantly moving, fidgeting, biting, hitting
  • difficulty focusing
  • obsessiveness
  • bed wetting
  • allergies
  • respiratory issues, asthma
  • menstrual issues

Seeing A Homeopath

My job as a homeopath is to find out about the child, the totality of them. I do this through observation, listening to both the parents and the child, finding out about the child’s dreams, finding out what bothers them, asking about their likes and child-1072227_960_720dislikes, what has changed and more. With babies, who may not be talking yet,  observation plays a lot into finding out about the child.

With all of this, I suggest a homeopathic remedy that is similar to the totality of what the child is experiencing in their symptoms. The homeopathic remedy stimulates the child’s healing process. They start to feel better. A healing starts.

Sometimes what bothers the child is not what the parents always think is bothering the child. Several years ago, I saw a boy who had a cough. The cough bothered his mother greatly. What bothered the boy was that his younger sister bossed him around all the time. “She was the boss of me”, he said. This, plus the cough and more, led me to the homeopathic remedy that helped him.

From this experience, I learned that what may bother the parent isn’t necessarily what bothers the child. Together, the information from the parent and the child, help to make the whole picture, the totality of the child.

If I can be of help to your child, or one you know and love, please contact me here or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I offer a complimentary 15+minute Get Acquainted Call to see if this is something you would like to pursue.

More About Grieving And Loss – Homeopathy Helps In The Healing

I have written about grieving in a prior post. I thought about just re-sending that post, but wanted to add a few more thoughts about grieving.

Grief is a feeling, the emotion we experience when we lose something or someone. We feel grief over a loss.

Crying helps. Talking to a friend. Expressing your anger in a constructive way. Taking a bath. Receiving and giving a hug. Creating something. Being out in nature. Basically, being kind to and taking care of yourself.

As a homeopath, I don’t necessarily see people who come in and say I am grieving, and need help for this loss. I take the case, witnessing with the patient what is bothering them. Sometimes a loss is expressed and shared with me. And the person may be grieving for this loss. A loss can be:

  • A death – parent, baby, child, spouse, significant other, relative, friend, pet
  • A loss of a job – firing, resigning, downsizing, restructuring, retiring
  • A move – changing one’s place of residency, a friend moving away, moving to another country, loss of a house/home
  • A grown child moving out, or going to college/another city for work/enlisting in the military
  • A divorce, a separation, or a relationship ending
  • A situation, event or even how you respond to something that is different than what you thought or wanted it to be
  • A change in the political climate
  • A change in your life – such as becoming a parent, getting married. The change event can be a good and happy one, but there may be some reactions or responses (losses) to these changes.
  • A loss of income
  • An (ongoing) illness – of oneself or a loved one, an aging parent, a pet
  • A war
  • A natural disaster – a friend years ago lost her house in a fire
  • A restriction, lock down, or lack of freedom – such as we have just been experiencing all over the world
  • A possibility or plan change – something we had been looking forward to isn’t happening, a relationship with a person that won’t happen
  • I am sure there are other losses

At first the loss is mentioned as the person is talking and telling me about themselves, Weight of grief made by artist Celeste Robergeabout how they feel what bothers them, and about their past. The loss is almost mentioned as an aside. Very often, I have noticed that what is bothering them, what brought them to homeopathy started when they experienced this loss. And the loss could have happened several years ago, and has had a lingering effect on the person. The loss could be considered a trauma.

(I came across this photo of this sculpture made by the artist Celeste Roberge on Facebook. It conveys the feelings of grief. Heaviness. Weighted  down. Unable to move. Feeling trapped. Google her to see more of her work.)

Two Women

I want to tell you about two women I have seen who have experienced a loss in their lives.

One woman has been feeling indifferent and apathetic to her life, not wanting to do anything. She is used to being in a work situation that is filled with people, and being involved with working with people together, as a team. She had recently retired. She no longer has this environment. It is a loss for her. It is something that she had always valued, and she misses it. She doesn’t necessarily say it this way, but that is what is expressed. This loss is an important part of her case, telling a lot about her as a person, along with the physical issues that are bothering her.

Another woman had a significant family member pass away. For her, not having this person in her life is very difficult. She has felt since the loss of this person, a numbness, a sense of being scattered, a difficulty focusing, fatigue, and digestive issues.

There is a lot more to each of these two women. I mention them here, because I want to point out that grief and feeling a loss of something, of someone, or of an environment in one’s life, can have an effect on our lives. The person is grieving, and missing what was – a person, an event, a possibility and more.
