A living medicine.
I talk to myself quite a bit. Recently I said to myself that homeopathy is a living medicine. I was thinking about how people use homeopathy, and this thought – homeopathy is a living medicine – came to me.
What I mean about a living medicine actually has several aspects.
First – the substances that homeopathic remedies are made from are living. Homeopathic remedies are made from plants, metals and minerals (the period table), animals (animals are not killed to make homeopathic remedies), and what is called imponderables, such as sunlight and moonlight. All of these substances – plants, minerals and metals, animals, imponderables – are alive in some way. They are and/or have energy.
Second – the energy part. The fact that these substances are energy makes them alive. Energy moves, changes, adapts, 
grows, affects, and reproduces. All of these can be descriptions of being alive.
Third – relating to a living being, a person or an animal (homeopathy is very helpful for animals). The individual. How the person is. How they experience what bothers them. I think this is really what triggered my thought about homeopathy being a living medicine. The individual, what they are expressing through their symptoms, their state, is their aliveness. This is what we want to address. As a homeopath, this is what I want to know, witnessing this with the patient.
The main principle of homeopathy is Like Cures Like. It is giving the similar to what the person is experiencing in the form of the homeopathic remedy. The aliveness of what the person is experiencing, with the aliveness of the homeopathic remedy that is similar to them. Like cures like. Living/aliveness cures living/aliveness
Fourth – the aliveness. The living. The ability to change. Looking at the individual. This being. Their uniqueness. Not a one size fits all. This is the aliveness. And possibly, healing is alive too. It is change.
