Flu and Not Feeling Well This Time of The Year

I wrote a little bit about seasonal illnesses in my last blogpost. I want to add to that. It is the time of the year that we are busier. It is colder. We may be around more people than usual. People get sick and may come down with the flu.

What to do?

Taking care of ourselves and our family is something that we strive to do all year round. We do the best that we can. Resting when tired. Getting good sleep. Eating nourishing, fresh, organic food, if we can. Drinking liquids. Washing hands. Exercising. Getting fresh air. Doing activities we enjoy. Being with people we love and enjoy. Listening to our body.

If we do become ill, it is good to rest, sleep, drink fluids, eat if we want to, don’t eat if we don’t want, listen to what our bodycup-of-tea-and-honey needs. If we have a fever, know that a fever is the way our body heals itself. The heat of the body kills off the bacteria and/or virus. A fever is a good thing. Vitamin A, D, C and Zinc are helpful to use. Homeopathy is helpful too and helpful when someone has a fever.

I think it is important to know that if someone does become ill with the flu, that there are ways to help with their healing, and not to be scared that they are not feeling well. Seeing your physician is a good idea too, if it gives you comfort.

Homeopathy Helps During The Flu

During the 1918-1919 influenza epidemic in the USA, homeopathic physicians recorded that those patients treated with homeopathy had a much lower mortality rate than those treated with conventional medicine.

Often in a flu season, there are 3 – 4 specific homeopathic remedies that are good for that particular strain of flu. If you are not moving through the flu in a reasonable amount of time, then homeopathy could be very helpful. It is always seeing what the person is experiencing in their symptoms and giving the homeopathic remedy that is similar to that. Sometimes more than one homeopathic remedy is needed during the course of the flu, using one remedy at a time. The symptoms change as the person moves through, and another homeopathic remedy is needed that is similar to these symptoms.

When someone has the flu, and seeks out homeopathic care, the homeopath will want to know about this person – the physical, the emotional and mental symptoms. Such as: What is the fever like? What is the cough like? Dry or loose? From the throat or lungs? Pains and discomfort? Headache? Digestive issues? Runny nose? Color of discharge or expectoration? What makes the symptoms worse or better? Are they hot or cold? Their thirst? Difficulty breathing? Do they want to be by themselves or with others? Do they need to be comforted? Are they irritable? Do they want the window open or closed? Do they want to be covered or uncovered? And more. It is finding out about this individual person.

I recently had a patient who was sick. She had a headache that would not go away. She didn’t have much of an appetite. Her skin felt hot, and felt hot when she touched. She did not have a fever. That symptom was unusual to me. She had taken a homeopathic remedy before calling me. I suggested one remedy, which didn’t do much. The second remedy helped, and the headache subsided. I could even hear in her voice on the phone after taking this homeopathic remedy that she was feeling better, her voice was stronger.

I also saw two patients who had tested positive on a home Covid test. They experienced weakness, a headache, loss of appetite, strong sensation on the tongue. Homeopathy helped.

Homeopathy Helps After The Flu

Sometimes, someone goes through the flu fine, but then there are some lingering affects. The person may tire easily. There may be a persistent cough. Their appetite may not have returned to what it was before they had become ill. Someone may feel light headed; experience aches and pains; have an off and on low grade fever; or just not feel well. This lingering experience may be longer than a few months. For example, someone may have a health condition for several years, and when asked what was going on when this condition started, the person may say I had the flu, three years ago, and haven’t felt well since. Homeopathy is helpful in this situation. It is called “Never been well since” – NBWS. NBWS can be after many different life occurrences, such as flu, another illness, a surgery, a fall, a trauma, a loss of a dear person, a home or a job.

Homeopathy Heals

It is good to know that if you do become ill with the flu, the coronavirus, or any other seasonal illness homeopathy can help and heal. Homeopathy is safe, gentle and non toxic. It is helpful for people of all ages, including pregnant women and nursing mothers.

When The Holiday Season Is Difficult – Homeopathy Can Help

It is just about the start of the holiday season. Stores are starting to be more crowded. The temperatures are cooler. We are making plans – to travel, to see friends and family, to host and attend parties, for celebrations, and to shop. This time of year can be both wonderful, and can be difficult for people.

It brings up a lot in us, about ourselves, our families, our financial situation, our childhoods, our futures, our children, our hopes, our dreams, and our health. In many, many ways, it is a busier time of the year.

THE HOLIDAY SEASON

During the holiday season, we can be more susceptible to becoming ill with a cold or flu or there could be a flare up of an ongoing chronic health concern that we experience tree reflectionfrom time to time. Someone may say, you know, every year around the Christmas holidays I get sick, like with a really bad flu. Or someone else may say, this time of the year is when I get so many asthma attacks, I wonder why. And for others, their digestion may be off. Some may experience more headaches. Others are feeling more anxiety or depression. And others may have flare ups of their skin eruptions. These are just a few of what some people may experience.

THERE MAY BE MORE TRIGGERS

We may be more sensitive to our surroundings at this time of the year, and therefore experience more triggers.

  • Our schedule is different, sleeping too little, staying up later at night and getting up early in the morning.
  • The foods we eat are different. We eat and drink too much.
  • We travel and are in different time zones.
  • We are around more people, the general public and our families and friends.
  • We are alone, and may feel isolated.
  • We have expectations of the holidays, of ourselves, and where we are in our lives.

All of these could be triggers, and then we don’t feel well.

TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES

The important thing is to take care of ourselves. Listen to what we need or not need, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Listen to our gut. Check in with ice-crystal-64157_960_720ourselves. Trust and honor ourselves.

Homeopathy can be very helpful and healing during this time of the year. Issues, emotions, situations, responses, reactions, physical complaints and concerns may come more to the surface at this time of the year.

I invite you to give yourself, and/or a loved one, the gift of health. I would be happy to talk with you, either through this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

I wish you all a wonderful, happy, joyous, fun and safe holiday season.

Are You Feeling Run Down? Homeopathy Can Help

We lead very busy lives. Work, family, commitments, responsibilities, even leisure activities. We live a fast paced life. Always busy, always having things that need to be done, going non-stop. And we experience a constant bombardment of information from the media.

Taking a break, resting, taking a day off is often a very good idea. Sometimes though, we don’t do this on our own, and our body says we  relaxingneed to. We need to rest; we need to take time off. What happens is that we may start to not feel well. We feel tired. We come down with something – a flu, a cold, a headache, a stomachache, a sore throat. We may experience a flare-up of an ongoing health issue, such as with our digestion, asthmatic symptoms, fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin eruptions and more. Our body is saying, hey, if you don’t take time off and slow down, I will make it so you have to take time off and slow down.

Does this sound a little familiar?

Being Run Down

I am writing this blog after the holiday season. At this time of the year, we have been so busy with family and friends, traveling, making preparations, shopping, going to and hosting parties, fulfilling expectations, eating, and more. And we may have not taken time to be quiet, and have down time. We have become run down.

It is very common to feel run down at this time of the year. It is good to take a day off, to take time for ourselves. And it is always good to listen to our bodies and to our inner voice on how we feel. To honor when we need to take time for ourselves.

Healing With Homeopathy

If this is happening very often to you, and you are feeling run down, becoming sick, and/or having flare-ups of a chronic condition on a regular basis, I invite you to schedule time for yourself, and to see how homeopathy can be of help to you in your health.

I would be very happy to talk with you further about your particular health concern. You can contact me here on this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.  I have a 15 minute Get Acquainted Call.

Is The Holiday Season A Difficult Time For You? Homeopathy Helps

It is just about the start of the holiday season. Stores are starting to be more crowded. The temperatures are cooler. We are making plans – to travel, to see friends and family, to host and attend parties, for celebrations, and to shop. This time of year can be both wonderful, and can be difficult for people. It brings up a lot in us, about ourselves, our families, our financial tree reflectionsituation, our childhoods, our futures, our children, our hopes, our dreams, and our health. A lot. In many, many ways, it is a busier time of the year.

(Two years ago, I wrote a post talking about the holiday blues. I wanted to write about the holiday season again. You can read that earlier post by clicking here.)

The Holiday Season

During the holiday season, we can be more susceptible to becoming ill, whether we become ill or there is a flare up of an ongoing chronic health concern that we experience from time to time. We may be more sensitive to our surroundings at this time of the year, and therefore experience more triggers. Our schedule is different, sleeping too little, staying up late at night and getting up early in the morning. The foods we eat are different. We eat and drink too much. We travel and are in different time zones. We are around more people, the general public and our families and friends. We are alone, and may feel isolated. We have expectations of the holidays, of ourselves, and where we are in our lives. All of these could be triggers.

Getting Sick During The Holiday Season

Someone may say, you know, every year around the Christmas holidays I get sick, like with a really bad flu. Or someone else may say, this time of the year is when I get so many asthma attacks, I wonder why. And for others, their digestion may be off. Some may experience more headaches. Others are feeling more anxiety or depression. And others may have flare ups of their skin eruptions. These are just a few of what some people may experience.

The important thing is to take care of yourself. Listen to what your body, and your soul needs, or doesn’t need. Listen to your gut. Kind of checking in with yourself. Trusting and honoring yourself.

Healing With Homeopathy

Homeopathy can be very helpful and healing during this time of the year. I have heard some homeopaths talk about their practice being quite busy during the holiday months, November thru January. Issues, emotions, situations, responses, reactions, and physical complaints and concerns may come more to the surface than at other times of the year. Because they are more accessible and right there on the surface, it may be a good time to come for homeopathic care.

I invite you to give yourself, and/or a loved one, the gift of health. I would be happy to talk with you, either through this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

*******

I will be continuing to write a weekly blog, but I wanted to get this one out at the start of this holiday season. Whatever holidays you celebrate, I wish you a wonderful time filled with happiness, fun, safety, joy, and health.
