Homeopathy To Heal

Healing Is A Process

When I talk about homeopathy, I very often use the word “process”, saying, it is a healing process.

I looked up “process” in THE NEW MERRIAM-WEBSTER DICTIONARY. One of the meanings listed there is “a series of actions or operations directed towards a particular result”.

If I relate this meaning of “process” to homeopathy, this may be how the parts of the dictionary meaning could be broken down and then put back together expressing the process of homeopathy:

  • “A series of actions and operations” is twofold. First, it is having appointments where the homeopath learns, witnesses what is bothering the patient and giving the homeopathic remedy or remedies that is similar to this. The second, that there can be a series of homeopathic remedies used. Some synonyms for “series” are succession, progression, a string. Again, I used THE NEW MERRIAM-WEBSTER DICTIONARY to look up the word “series”. Some homeopaths have used the word “ladder”, with each rung or step leading to the next one, and towards healing. A path is a lovely image for this. path-ladder
  • “Directed towards a particular result” means it is going somewhere in particular, which is towards health, a healing, to feel better, to no longer be experiencing the symptoms or the health issue anymore or experiencing it less frequently, a cure.
  • If I put these phrases together, it may come as: It is a process. By having appointments, the homeopath learns and witnesses what is bothering the patient. This information guides the homeopath in choosing the similar homeopathic remedies to the patient that are needed to help the patient heal. More than one homeopathic remedy may be needed over the healing time.

My Experience

Sometimes, in this process, the first homeopathic remedy is all that is needed. Very often though, a series of homeopathic remedies are needed, using one at a time. Each of the homeopathic remedies that are used gives us more information, and leads to the next homeopathic remedy needed. Sometimes, homeopathic remedies may be used concurrently, which means one remedy is given, and then another one is given several days or a week(s) later. No matter how we proceed, it is always looking at the individual, what they need and is fitting for them.

Some patients:

This patient has had two appointments with me. The first homeopathic remedy we used didn’t do much. At the second appointment, the patient talked about the same things he had said before, and said more. This deepened my understanding of him. I gave him a different homeopathic remedy. We will see how he does. It is a process.

Another patient, a woman, has done very well on the first homeopathic remedy we used. Her congestion and itchy rashes are much better, less virulent and uncomfortable, and she has more energy. She has taken this homeopathic remedy several times over the last 4 months, and has been helped by each dose. In addition, to using this remedy, I will be giving her another homeopathic remedy to address a deeper layer of her, and lessen the sensitivity which may lessen the number of flare ups and intensity of them. We may continue with the first homeopathic remedy given when needed.

I had a follow up with the mother of a nine year old boy, who is the patient. He has done well on the homeopathic remedy. We have given a higher potency of this remedy over the last few months. Some things were better, yet didn’t always maintain. He would slide back some, that is when we would give another dose of the remedy. From this last appointment, another homeopathic remedy was clearly showing, which we are going to use. We may go back to the first one if and when needed. Having these follow up appointments help to get a deeper and wider understanding of the patient.

I have many patients that when something comes up and they are not feeling that well, they contact me along with any other health practitioners they use. At these times, they may need another dose of the homeopathic remedy that has helped them, or a different homeopathic remedy may be needed to address what is going on now.

Being Stuck

Being stuck.

When someone is not feeling well, whether it is an acute illness or an ongoing chronic issue, they are stuck. Stuck in the symptoms they are experiencing, whether they are physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual ones. Not moving stuck-snow-carforward from the symptoms. The symptoms are not changing and the person is not feeling better. There is no movement.

For example, if someone has an acute illness such as a dry, unproductive cough that is lingering and lingering, exhausting the person, we want to see the cough starting to loosen up, becoming a more wetter type of cough. Maybe starting to cough up some mucous, and the nose starting to run. There might even be a rash. This is movement and change. Not being stuck anymore. The person is healing.

With a chronic, ongoing health issue the person lives with the symptoms. There may be flare ups or episodes, and there may times that the person feels better, but then the symptoms come back. The person may think that this will never change, accepting that this is just part of their life or how their life will be. This is being stuck.

I say often to someone who has an acute illness, we want to see change in your symptoms. We want to see movement from what you are experiencing. This is showing that you are healing, no longer being stuck.

A lot of the patients that come to homeopathy are stuck. They are stuck in their symptoms, in their state of ill health. Whether it is skin eruptions, menstrual difficulties, anxiety/depression, fears, breathing difficulties, just not feeling well, sore throats, digestive issues, nausea, pain, arthritis, headaches …. They are stuck.

Homeopathy heals, creating movement, helping someone to become unstuck, so they can live their live fully.

More 4 – Coronavirus And Homeopathy – There Is Help

video

My intention in my blogs and newsletters is to give positive and constructive ways to help in our health and healing, whether for acute health concerns, chronic issues, first aid situations, and with the coronavirus that we are experiencing now.

Above is a video I made of me talking about the need for homeopathy and how it can be helpful during this time. Click on the “video” above to view.

STATISTICS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS

The following are statistics of 204 people who used homeopathy during this time of the coronavirus:

  • Much better               58  people   29%
  • Very much better     131 people   64%
  • Somewhat better      12  people     5%
  • No change                    5  people    2 %

From the total cases, 189 people are better (combining much better and very much better). 93%. That is high! These statistics mirror the similar statistics when homeopathy was used in other epidemics in history, such as in the Dengue fever, Yellow Fever. Whopping Cough, Asian Flu, and the Spanish Flu.

Most of these 204 cases needed at least 2 – 4 different homeopathic remedies in the healing process. I mentioned that before in a prior post, that often we will need more than one homeopathic remedy. There are different stages of this virus, and as a person moves from one stage to another, a different homeopathic remedy is needed that fits that stage, and fits what the person is experiencing.

HOMEOPATHY AND CORONAVIRUS

I continue to view webinars given by a few homeopaths all over the world. A handful of homeopathic remedies are emerging that are helpful for this virus. More homeopathic remedies are being added.

I am hearing that the virus is mutating and changing. Different symptoms are coming up, affecting different parts and systems of the body. I think you are probably hearing and reading about this too.

I mentioned in a previous post and also in my video above, that during an epidemic or pandemic, many cases of different people are taken, and put together and seen as one case, as one person. Then the homeopathic remedies that fit those cases, all those people, start to emerge. Whereas, for an individual’s chronic condition, just the symptoms of that person is taken, just their case, and a homeopathic remedy is matched to those symptoms.

In a way this virus is a reflection of what is happening in the world, in our environment, family rainbowin how we interact with each other, how we feel about each other and more. In homeopathic philosophy, epidemics are thought of as an acute disease, of which many, many people have. In a way, it is a release, like letting out steam from a pressure cooker.

By letting out the little bit of steam, in a way there is a healing of all of us and of the world. We see that a little bit in the cleaner air, cleaner waters and oceans, less congestion, the ozone hole in the Arctic has closed and more.

HOMEOPATHY TO HEAL

I am seeing patients via technology. I am seeing patients both locally to the San Diego area and outside of the area, for various health concerns. This is a good time to take care of yourself.

I am trained as a classical homeopath. I always continue to learn. There is s big need for homeopathy. It is a wonderful healing modality and resource for people.

I wish you well. Be well. If I can be of help, homeopathically, please contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

Healing: Quieting Down, Seeing More Possibilities, Feeling Better

Healing.

Feeling better. Feeling well. Feeling hopeful. Feeling positive. Feeling symptoms less or not at all. Feeling no pain. Feeling a sense of freedom. Feeling that you have choices. Feeling unstuck. Feeling you can move. Feeling that there are possibilities.

What I Often Say To Patients

People come to see me for all sorts of concerns that are bothering them. It can be a physical concern, a physical condition, an emotional reaction and response, difficulty focusing, just not feeling well and more. As a homeopath, I am always looking at the whole person. All the parts of the person make up the whole. As someone heals, the specific concern that brought them to homeopathy is better, along with a healing of the whole person.

Often, at a point towards the end of the consultation appointment, I talk a little bit about what happens as someone is healing. These are some of the analogies I have said.

The first one: it is as if an energy has attached itself to you. It is not your energy, but an outside one. And it is so loud. And so loud all the time. That no matter what you do, there quieting-boardwalkis this loudness, and it takes over everything. With a healing, this loudness starts to quiet down; quieting down till there may not be any loudness at all. At first, you may not notice that there is a change, but as the healing continues, the change, the lack of loudness becomes more noticeable. And it becomes quieter.

As I am saying this to the patient, I am using my arms, to show the quieting down. I start with my arms open armswide apart, and then move them closer together, slowly. This is what happens as you heal, I say, at first, you don’t notice that much difference between here and here (I show with my arms as I am moving them a little bit closer together), but as my arms get closer together, you notice more of change, a quieting down. You are not experiencing what bothers you as much, and you start to see, wow there has been a change, I am feeling better.

Another analogy: it is as if everything is the color orange. No matter what happens, no matter how you feel, no matter where you look, everything is orange. You don’t see any other colors. As you heal, you start to see that there are other colors, in addition to orange. colorsThere are blues, reds, pinks, yellows, purples, violets, greens and more. Now, there are more colors; there are more possibilities.

And a third analogy: it is as if we see only from one view point. No matter what happens in our life, no matter how we feel, physically, emotionally, mentally, we only see in one way. As you heal, there are other ways of looking at something. It is as if you have moved and shifted, and now you can see from another vantage point. You are no longer stuck, looking at something from one place, from one angle, from one point of view, you now see many possibilities.

Healing Is A Process

Healing is a process. I tell these three analogies to my patients, so that they see that their healing is a process. At first, they may see small changes, but as the healing continues, they see more changes, and are feeling better. What bothered them which brought them in for homeopathic treatment is better, AND they are feeling better in themselves.

Healing The Soil That Nourishes You

I hear so often that someone is experiencing a certain health concern. At that time, it is a flare up. The person may experience flare ups fairly often. They may feel alright between the flare ups, but the flare ups continue to occur.

Three People

Within the last few weeks, I have heard about, and spoken to several people who have been experiencing flare ups of their health concern. They are:

  • A woman who has shingles. This is not her first time having shingles. This time it has lasted more than the usual 7 weeks. She is in a lot of discomfort and pain.
  • A one year old boy who has ongoing earaches. His doctor may be considering putting tubes in his ears. His mother tells me that the boy is fussy all the time, just not a happy baby. He has a sensitive nature, she says, and sensitive to foods that he eats, and to the foods that she eats. He is being breastfed, which is very good thing. When I look at him, I see red around his eyes, and he just doesn’t smile very much.
  • A man who experiences ongoing digestive issues, whether having diarrhea very often, or just not feeling well after eating certain foods. He may have been diagnosed with, or given the label of, colitis or irritable bowel syndrome.

I am sure these three people are receiving health care, especially when they are having a flare up and are not feeling well. To me as a homeopath, when someone is experiencing flare ups often, it means that the root cause of what is bothering the person has not been healed.

Nourishing Soil

I think of soil. When we garden, we want good, nourishing, life giving and sustaining soil in soilwhich our vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, berries, fruits, and anything else we plant can grow. Why wouldn’t we want that kind of soil for ourselves?

The soil of these three people is not well, not nourishing, not life giving to them. We can give medicines to help relieve and alleviate their symptoms, but most of the time, these medicines are not healing the person; the medicines may be easing the symptoms, for a time period, but not healing.

flowers-113503_1280Homeopathy heals at the root cause of what is bothering someone. It is healing the soil of the person. When the soil is healthier, the person experiences less flare ups of their health concern, to possibly no flare ups. The person can bloom and flourish.

Homeopathy To Heal

When I meet with a patient, I observe them, listening to their language, and how they express themselves. With a child, I ask the mother and father to tell and to actually show me how the child responds and behaves to what is happening to them. What is the expression of the child? How do they move? What sounds do they make? For any age of the patient, it is always finding out about the individual person.

I would also want to know:

  • What would they say is bothering them the most?
  • How do they experience what bothers them?
  • What was happening before they started to have this health concern – shingles, ear infection, or colitis.
  • What happens right before the flare ups?
  • How do they experience the shingles, ear infection or colitis – what makes it better or worse?
  • For the child, what was the mother’s pregnancy like? How was the birth like?
  • Temperament?
  • Fears?
  • Other issues and sensitivities?

What Is Your Soil Like?

What is the soil like in your garden? Do you, or a loved one, experience an ongoing health issue with flare ups, such as ear infections, digestive issues, shingles, herpes, headaches, eczema or other skin eruptions, menstrual issues, chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, or any other health concern?

Let’s talk and see how homeopathy would be a good fit for you. You can contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

What The Body Feels And Says

“The whole body weeps when it is invaded.”

This line is from the book BUDDHA IN THE WAITING ROOM written by Paul Brenner. MD. When I read this line, I cried. It touched something in me personally, and I think it probably does for other people as well.

This line is in a paragraph in which Dr. Brenner is writing about the implications someone  trees-1767119__480would experience after having surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. It could also be when someone has experienced any kind of abuse, emotional damage, physical pain or trauma, an on going physical condition, mental pain and more. It pertains to any kind of “invasion”.

What struck me about this line, was not the being invaded, but that the body weeps. To me it meant that the body, the whole being of the person, has some recall, memory, or retention of something happening to it. That even though time has passed, and the person is doing well in their life and in their health, there may be some lingering of the past, and is expressed in symptoms, discomfort, pain, emotions, anything. To me this is what the weeping means.

The weeping may be a way of asking for help, for help in a healing, a deep healing at the root cause. The weeping is saying, hey, I am still here, listen to me, listen to what I have to say, and help me heal.

There are a lot of different healing modalities. The best are the ones that resonate with you. And possibly that means resonates with the weeping, to help to hear what the body is saying.

If I can be of any help, homeopathically, please contact me here through this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

And I suggest Dr. Paul Brenner’s book BUDDHA IN THE WAITING ROOM.

Why Do I Practice Homeopathy?

Why do I practice homeopathy?

I feel that people are looking for a natural, non-invasive, deep healing modality. They may be tired of not feeling well, and tired of taking medications that are not really healing. And they want to be better.

Why do I practice homeopathy?

It is to offer a healing modality that truly is healing. Healing at the root cause from which umbrella-1521492_1280the symptoms, and the discomfort and the pains come from.

Why do I practice homeopathy?

Because I see as people heal and are doing better, they are more at ease to be fully themselves, and are no longer being limited by a physical symptom or an emotional stuckness.

Why do I practice homeopathy?

I see people as they heal, through the help of homeopathy, being able to use other healing modalities in a much more constructive and positive way.

Why do I practice homeopathy?

It makes sense to me. It resonates with me. It is a WOW to me.

Health Is Having Movement

Health is having movement. When we are healthy we don’t get stuck in one place,   whether it is a physical symptom, an emotional state, persistent thoughts, certain behaviors or the same reactions. We may experience some of these, sometimes, but we waterfall-204398_1280don’t get stuck and stay in them. We are able to move out of these stuck places.

I like to give the image of a pole. Each end is the extreme. Perhaps health is being in the middle of the pole. I think really health is moving back and forth between the two ends, through the middle, not getting stuck anywhere on the pole.

Health Is Movement

As my patients talk about how they are feeling better, I often hear them talk about this movement of health. It is interesting how each person words it. Here are two patients that I have seen over the years.

Why Would People Say Things Like That?

One patient, often talked about feeling they she is attacked or insulted with things that are going on in her life. Why would people say things like that, she would say. She wanted to speak up, sometimes, even wanting to stomp her foot, saying hey, don’t talk to me like that. Instead, she just felt upset and hurt. Physically, she often felt very weak and anxious, with palpitations, and would need to lay down and rest. She also would have digestive issues; diarrhea would wipe her out.

When she came in for a follow up appointment after several months using a homeopathic  remedy, she related an incidence in which she felt she had been treated very poorly. She said, that in the past with a situation like this, she might have just backed off, not saying anything, but feeling inside, why did they say and do this to me? With this situation, she felt angry that she was treated so poorly, and wanted to speak up about it. And that is what she did.

She was not going to either of the extremes. One being so angry, venting, feeling attacked and hurt that she felt sick. And, the other extreme of wanting to attack, to stomp, and to hurt the other person. What she did was to speak up for herself. The two extremes merged, in a way. She felt them both, and found a way of handling the situation that was positive and constructive. This is health, movement of health.

She was also feeling less anxious and the weak episodes were occurring less often.

I Am Feeling Myself Again

Another woman would often talk about being heavy, enclosed, not able to move, needing to be at home, and needing/wanting to be very much in touch with a spiritual life. She also talked about some physical complaints she experienced, such as headaches, fatigue,  difficulty focusing and anxiety. The heaviness and the spirituality are the extremes of the pole, her pole.

As she was healing and feeling better, she talked about these two extremes at the same time. And she was experiencing them at the same time. Before, she had talked about them separately, and wasn’t experiencing the spirituality that she cherished. Now, she said, I am feeling like myself again. I feel grounded in my body, and I am also feeling the spiritual connection again. I had lost that connection. I am feeling it again and I feel inspired. What she expressed was health -movement of health.

She was calmer, and had more direction in her life. And her headaches were much better.

Healing With Homeopathy

Most people come to homeopathy for a physical complaint. As they are talking about what bothers them, I start to hear their “pole”, their sensitivity, their extremes, how they experience their life. With a healing, the physical complaint is better, and the person is also feeling better in themselves. They are moving. They are not stuck in their physical complaint, an emotion, a behavior, a thought, nor a reaction. This is health. I find it exciting to see my patients experience this.

Homeopathy: Putting Together, Piece By Piece, The Jigsaw Puzzle That is You

I was at a meeting the other day, and the presenter was talking about sole business owners and how they need to develop and to nurture themselves and their business. The presenter specifically was talking about having a plan, a picture, a vision of what you are working towards for your business. She gave the analogy of a jigsaw puzzle, saying that when you work on a jigsaw puzzle you need the picture of what it will be when finished, otherwise, you won’t know what it will turn out to be. This is the same with your business, she said, you need a picture/plan/vision to know where you are going and if you are going in the right direction.

I thought this was a good analogy to what she was talking about. And I thought, this was not true with homeopathy.

The Pieces Make Up The Whole

In homeopathy, the homeopath doesn’t have a picture to look at as they are meeting with the patient. They have no idea what the whole picture will be like or turn out to be beforehand. The homeopath views, observes, witnesses, listens to jigsaw-puzzle-712465_960_720the pieces as the person is speaking, and puts these pieces together making the picture, the whole picture, of this person.

The person may say they have ADHD like symptoms, depression, eczema, digestive issues, or headaches. This may sound like the picture, but for the homeopath it doesn’t tell them anything about this particular person. It is a piece of the puzzle, a piece of the whole.

When we go to see a doctor, we are used to having each piece treated, separately. Have a headache, take this medication. Have digestive issues take this medication. That is how western medicine works. This is not so with homeopathy.

Healing With Homeopathy

The homeopath is finding out about all of the pieces of the person, and putting them together to make a full picture of THIS person who is in front of them. The picture is of THIS person, not of the ADHD symptoms, the digestive issues, the depression, the eczema or the headaches. It is the totality of the person. A homeopathic remedy is then given that is similar to the wholeness of the person, stimulating the person’s own healing abilities.

One Patient

A woman came for homeopathic treatment because she had lingering effects from an injury. She talked about this injury, as well as other parts of her life (pieces). As she was healing after taking the homeopathic remedy, the lingering effects from the injury subsided; she was sleeping better; her interactions with her family members improved; and she was experiencing less discomfort and symptoms as she transitioned into menopause. All of these are pieces of her, making up the totality of her. The healing is of the whole person, and as the person heals, the pieces heal too.

Knowing Health

Knowing and experiencing health.

In some way this is a continuation from my last post BEING YOU.

As we heal, we are feeling better. Our symptoms are less or are gone. We are sleeping and eating better. We are handling the situations of life easier and constructively. Things still do happen in our lives, and we respond to them. We may feel anger, fear, sadness, depression, anxiety, and joy. We may be fatigued, be in pain, and experience our physical symptoms. But we don’t get stuck in them. We are able to feel it, be with it, and then move out of it. We are feeling good in ourselves.

Feeling Healthy

With this experience of feeling good and healthy, we start to see the difference between feeling well and not feeling well. If we have not been able to “right”ourselves, and the feeling of being unwell continues, it is usually time for another dose of the homeopathic remedy. This will keep the healing moving forward.

balance-15712__180I often find that patients who have been doing well with homeopathic care start to know when it is time for another dose of the homeopathic remedy. How they express this awareness is very unique to them, just as their experience of what bothers them is unique to them.

Here is what some people say:

  • I am feeling as though I need to pull back inside. Being out is difficult. And I am so tired. I have been more out in the world, meeting and being with people, saying who I am, which is good, but now I think I need another dose of the remedy.
  • I have been able to use the computer well without feeling dizzy or tired. And I have been calm with the interactions with my family. I am speaking up for myself in a positive and constructive way. Other people have commented to me on how good I look. But I am staring to feel that using the computer is difficult and I have been feeling dizzy. I think it is time for another dose of the remedy.
  • I haven’t had the headaches. And I feel like myself. I have energy to do things, where before I was so tired. When I start to have headaches or am feeling so tired, I know it is time for another dose.
  • I haven’t been sleeping well. May I take another dose of the remedy? (This patient calls once a year or every six months, usually when it is exam time at the end of a school semester.)
  • I have been eating, and I have an appetite, but now I am beginning to feel that I don’t want to eat. I think it is time for another dose of the homeopathic remedy.

Another Dose Of The Homeopathic Remedy

When the person needs another dose of the homeopathic remedy, it isn’t in a set time period, such as once a week or once a month. It is when it is needed. Healing is a process. We want to keep the healing process moving forward. This is what homeopathy does. Part of healing is knowing health; knowing what health is for each of us.

I would be very happy to talk to you about your health. I invite you to contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com
