We lead very busy lives. Work, family, commitments, responsibilities, even leisure activities. We live a fast paced life. Always busy, always having things that need to be done, going non-stop. And we experience a constant bombardment of information from the media.
Taking a break, resting, taking a day off is often a very good idea. Sometimes though, we don’t do this on our own, and our body says we need to. We need to rest; we need to take time off. What happens is that we may start to not feel well. We feel tired. We come down with something – a flu, a cold, a headache, a stomachache, a sore throat. We may experience a flare-up of an ongoing health issue, such as with our digestion, asthmatic symptoms, fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin eruptions and more. Our body is saying, hey, if you don’t take time off and slow down, I will make it so you have to take time off and slow down.
Does this sound a little familiar?
Being Run Down
I am writing this blog after the holiday season. At this time of the year, we have been so busy with family and friends, traveling, making preparations, shopping, going to and hosting parties, fulfilling expectations, eating, and more. And we may have not taken time to be quiet, and have down time. We have become run down.
It is very common to feel run down at this time of the year. It is good to take a day off, to take time for ourselves. And it is always good to listen to our bodies and to our inner voice on how we feel. To honor when we need to take time for ourselves.
Healing With Homeopathy
If this is happening very often to you, and you are feeling run down, becoming sick, and/or having flare-ups of a chronic condition on a regular basis, I invite you to schedule time for yourself, and to see how homeopathy can be of help to you in your health.
I would be very happy to talk with you further about your particular health concern. You can contact me here on this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I have a 15 minute Get Acquainted Call.
What would your answers be to these four questions? What would you say?

What Some People Have Said
We are all different in what we say is bothering us. And we are all different in how we experience “not feeling well”. Here is what a few people have said when answering these questions:
I am so exhausted. I can’t even vacuum my house. I am so tired. I get up in the morning, and then I need to take a nap very soon afterwards. I would like to have the energy I used to have.
I have these skin eruptions. It is eczema. I have always had this. It is always itching and is all over my body. I want this eczema gone!
I have had this cough for the last 3 months. Sometimes I have a coughing fit, and then I feel so tired afterwards. I can’t talk too much because I will start coughing. I would like to feel better. I would settle with just not coughing as much.
My child goes to school for only half a day. He becomes so upset with himself if he doesn’t do an assignment right, or the way he feels it needs to be done. He will get mad at himself, and sometimes throw things or run away and hide. He takes medication daily, but he still feels this way. I would like him to be happy – to not be so upset with himself, to enjoy school and to have friends.
I always have to watch the kinds of foods I eat, otherwise, I have severe stomach pains and diarrhea. I feel so limited in what I can eat. I have to know where all the bathrooms are located when I go out. I would like to be able to eat like everyone else.
I have allergies. Every spring I am so congested, and it is difficult to breath. To breath all year round would be great!
I have hot flashes at night. I wake up in the middle of the night, feeling very anxious, and then the hot flashes come. I sweat so much. And during the day I feel so anxious too. No more sweats and hot flashes, that is what I would like.
I feel so emotional about things that are happening in my life. I cry all the time. To not be so emotional, or to understand it better.
I just don’t feel well. I am tired all the time, and have this cold that just won’t go away. My doctor says, I am fine, but I feel as though I am not fine. To feel well and not be tired would be good.
This Is A Start
What each person said about themselves is a start in learning about them. If they choose to come in for homeopathy, together we go deeper to understand more fully what this “not feeling well” is like for them. We are all different in how we experience “not feeling well”, whether it is a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual complaint.
I invite you to think about these four questions. How would you answer them? Mull them over. Maybe write down what comes to you. And, after you have done that, and you are wanting to feel better, contact me here on this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com, and let’s get you feeling better.
Several days ago, I spoke to a woman about her friend. Her friend has had digestive issues for many yeas, specifically bowel issues, He has been hospitalized several times, and at one point there was a possibility of removing part of his colon. I am wondering if the diagnosis was Crohn’s Disease. I have not spoken to her friend, yet. I don’t know much about him, but it sounds as if he has, and is, suffering greatly from this condition. Suffering with pain, discomfort, and weakness. Experiencing a lot of limitations in his life in terms of what he can do and not do. And I think he may be in his 20’s.
I have written posts about digestive issues. I wanted to add to what I had written before. There can be gradations of this kinds of issues. Not to lessen any of them, and how it affects each person, but some of these conditions can be life threatening and/or take over someone’s life.
Treatment With Western Medicine
In terms of treatment, most of the people who are experiencing these digestive issues may be taking some form of medication, or supplements, or perhaps on a particular diet. They may also be doing meditation and practicing mindfulness. The diet may be helping. The supplements may be helping, but the person may have difficulty digesting and assimilating the supplements. The medications may be alleviating the discomfort and the symptoms, for a period of time, but not healing or really making the situation or condition better. And I would think that the meditation and mindfulness is helpful. But yet, the person is not doing better. I want to say, homeopathy would greatly help and heal.
Treatment With Homeopathy
Homeopathy heals health issues that western medicine really does not know what or how to handle. With this man, for example, he has had a lot of treatments, and is not doing better. When coming to homeopathy, the specificness about HIS digestive and bowel issues are observed, heard, and understood in depth – how HE is experiencing the symptoms, what HIS dreams are like, HIS fears, the sensations HE may experience, HIS dislikes and likes, and more. With all of this, a homeopathic remedy is chosen that fits the totality of HIM. This homeopathic remedy will help him heal. The digestive and bowel issues will be better, as well as he will be eating better, sleeping better, living a life in which he can develop and fulfill his potential and interests, being more engaged in life, and happier.
For someone as young as this man, or for anyone, it is good to know that there are other choices of healing modalities for one’s health care. If you or a loved one is suffering with digestive issues, contact me to see how homeopathy could be healing for you. Either leave a comment here, or visit my website. www.homeopathytoheal.com I have a 15+ minute complimentary Get Acquainted Phone Call. I would be happy to talk with you. And I do work with patients via Skype, who are not local.
Recently, I spoke to a woman who has been constantly tired. She said that this all started after she had a very bad fall. She hasn’t been well since, she said.
Many times, people may not be well after they have had some kind of physical trauma or emotional loss or upset. Specifically, physical traumas are anything that has happened to the body, or changes to the body, such as: a surgery, a fall, a high fever, a course(s) of antibiotics, an infection, a pregnancy, a miscarriage, the flu, vaccinations, puberty, and menopause. An emotional trauma could be a loss of a loved one, a big disappointment, a divorce, a geographical move, a loss of a job, mistreatment, a war experience, and sexual abuse. There may be other types of traumas that I have not mentioned.
Never well since means that the person has not been well since that particular trauma occurred. The person may have dealt with the trauma, and that was no longer an issue or concern, but they may have developed a particular physical, emotional or mental symptom or a health condition after this. Now this is their main concern, and they are not feeling well.
Some of these health concerns could be: prolonged headaches, digestive issues, autoimmune diseases, depression, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, women’s issues, men’s issues, difficulty breathing, skin eruptions, eczema, hair loss, chronic fatigue, insomnia or other sleep disturbances, nightmares, phobias, fears, post traumatic syndrome, just not feeling well, and more.
The person may have seen doctors or other health professionals for help, such as the woman who called me, yet they are still not feeling well. This is a good time to come to homeopathy.
Homeopathy looks at the whole person, knowing that all the parts of the person are interconnected. This includes the prolonged response to the trauma that the person is experiencing – the never well since. Through the understanding of what the person is experiencing in their health concern, the homeopathic practitioner (homeopath) selects a homeopathic remedy that is similar to their suffering. The main principle of homeopathy is the Law or Similars or Like Cures Like. Each person is unique in how they experience their symptoms and health concerns. The given homeopathic remedy stimulates the person’s own healing process, and the person starts to feel better.
Homeopathy is gentle in its healing and there are no side effects. It heals at the root of what is bothering the person. The person then is feeling better, and the never been well since is also healed.
There are many people of all ages, young children to older adults, men and women, who experience ongoing, chronic conditions in which flare ups and episodes occur fairly often. They may be using some form of medication to help ease, to palliate, and to alleviate the symptoms. The medication may help them feel better, for a period of time, but there is no real healing. Homeopathy can be extremely helpful for these types of health conditions, promoting a deep healing.
The October 21st, 2013 post on The National Center for Homeopathy’s Facebook page writes specifically about the medication predinsone and auto-immune illnesses. What is written in this post can be applied to any form of chronic illness in which medication is used to palliate symptoms. I have included the post here for you to read. (If you would like to see the NCH’s Facebook page yourself, google “The National Center for Homeopathy, October 21st”. Click on NCH’s Facebook page, scroll down to October 21st.) The National Center for Homeopathy is a great resource for homeopathy: finding a homeopathic practitioner, learning more about homeopathy, and being updated about what is happening in the homeopathic community.
“Predinsone is a steroidal drug commonly proscribed for fibromyalgia, allergies, skin eruptions, arthritis, asthma and many other auto-immune disorders. Side effects are many, dangerous and have been well known since they (steroidal drugs) were first introduced in the 1950’s.
For those with chronic illnesses, these corticosteroids can only suppress symptoms and never actually cure these inflammatory problems because they never address the reasons WHY you are experiencing continual inflammation.
Homeopathy is a wonderfully safe and helpful alternative to steriodal drugs. If you suffer from chronic acute problems for which your physician wants to prescribe this class of drugs, consider talking to a well trained homeopath to learn of better and FAR safer homeopathic options.”

Homeopathy treats and heals the whole person. There is usually something specific that brings a person in to see the homeopath. The health concern could be one of those listed above. In the homeopathic consultation, this health concern is explored in depth – what it is like for the person, how it affects them, the sensation of it and more. Other areas, aspects, and symptoms of the person are also explored in depth. For example, one aspect is how the person responds and reacts to stress. When you think about it, there are particular responses and reactions each of us experience that are unique to us when we are feeling stressed. At these times, this could be when the flare ups of the health concern are more prevalent. These responses and reactions could be difficulty sleeping, change in eating habits, particular thoughts and feelings, particular behaviors, and other physical responses and sensations. All of this gives a picture of the state of the person.
It is the whole of the person that is being treated in homeopathy. Everything is connected. Each part is not in isolation from the rest; it is part of the whole. Homeopathy is treating the person, the whole person.
What is your suffering? Do you or a loved one have a chronic condition? Are you taking medication for it and not feeling any better? Are you concerned about the side effects from the medication? It may be time to see how homeopathy can help you. Talk to a trained classical homeopath to find out more.
To add: it is always important to have your medical doctor manage and supervise any changes in the dosage of the medication, whether it is to decrease, increase or wean off of it.
