My Recent Experience With A Doctor – One Of The Difference Between Allopathic And Homeopathic Medicine

Recently, I had an annual exam with a new doctor.  I wanted to get acquainted with a doctor, so if in the future I needed care in allopathic medicine I had a relationship already established. This is also a good idea to do with a homeopath.

A Personal Experience

During the exam, I was describing to the doctor a sensation that I sometimes experience on the left side of my body, in the chest and breast area, and under the rib cage. It is a sensation that I have had over the years. It is is not a constant sensation. It is not painful, but has a heaviness feeling to it, as if I can feel that area.

The main sensation is that the area (rib cage, chest)  feels held in, as if there is not enough room for it to expand. I don’t have any difficulty breathing, nor do I feel the sensation when I breath. The feeling is a heaviness, tightness, held in, and wanting to expand and to be let out.

I said this last part to the doctor.  She answered, “I don’t know what you are saying.” field of flowers I replied, “That kind of description is what I hear from my patients. As a homeopath, it gives me an understanding of what the person is experiencing.”

A Difference Between Allopathic and Homeopathic Medicine

I thought to myself, this is one of the differences between homeopathic and allopathic medicine. It really showed me how different an appointment is with a doctor compared to one with a homeopath.  A doctor gathers their information through the results of tests – blood pressure, pulse, vitals, blood panels, examinations etc. And a homeopath will take all of these test results into consideration, but also wants to know more about what this person is experiencing, such as the sensation I described above.

It was very interesting for me to have the physical exam, and to personally see for myself how different the experience of working with a doctor is, as compared to working with a homeopath.

Homeopathy To Heal

There is definitely a place for allopathic (western medicine) to help people in their health. And there is definitely a place for homeopathic medicine. I have found that many people who come to homeopathy for care do so after using other healing modalities, including allopathic medicine.

If you feel that homeopathy could be helpful for your or a loved one’s health condition, I invite you to contact me. I can be reached on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I would be happy to talk with you.

Homeopathy Is A Wonderful Healing Modality – And You

I want to talk to you about homeopathy, and you.

Homeopathy is a wonderful healing modality. It is helpful for so many health concerns people experience today, from first aid, like burns, sprains, falls and dental procedures; to acute concerns like colds/flus, coughs, sore throats and impacted teeth; to chronic/ongoing conditions like gull in flightdigestive issues, headaches, swollen glands and a cancer diagnosis. For a child who is having difficulty concentrating or is on the autism spectrum, to an older person who has had a heart attack. I can list and list health concerns of which homeopathy would be helpful, and for all ages.

And homeopathy is also helpful for other living beings in addition to human beings, such as your dog, cat or horse.

You Know…

I believe that you know:

What you want.

To be pain free, to have more energy, to have better digestion, to  focus better, to have easier periods, for your child to have a conversation with you.

What is bothering you.

Pain, anxiety, fatigue, emotional feelings, a skin eruption.

What is preventing you from being better.

A mindset, a trauma or physical ailment that you really have not healed from yet, an ongoing stress situation, an exposure to environmental toxins.

And, what you are looking for in terms of helping yourself in your health.

To feel better using more natural forms of healing that really promote a healing, and not a palliation, by accessing the body’s wonderful healing ability.

Homeopathy

You may be wanting to know specifically what homeopathy can do to help you in your health, to help you in what you do know about yourself.  I may have addressed that in previous posts, if I haven’t, I invite you to contact me and let’s see about you.

I can be contacted through this blog post or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

Healing The Soil That Nourishes You

I hear so often that someone is experiencing a certain health concern. At that time, it is a flare up. The person may experience flare ups fairly often. They may feel alright between the flare ups, but the flare ups continue to occur.

Three People

Within the last few weeks, I have heard about, and spoken to several people who have been experiencing flare ups of their health concern. They are:

  • A woman who has shingles. This is not her first time having shingles. This time it has lasted more than the usual 7 weeks. She is in a lot of discomfort and pain.
  • A one year old boy who has ongoing earaches. His doctor may be considering putting tubes in his ears. His mother tells me that the boy is fussy all the time, just not a happy baby. He has a sensitive nature, she says, and sensitive to foods that he eats, and to the foods that she eats. He is being breastfed, which is very good thing. When I look at him, I see red around his eyes, and he just doesn’t smile very much.
  • A man who experiences ongoing digestive issues, whether having diarrhea very often, or just not feeling well after eating certain foods. He may have been diagnosed with, or given the label of, colitis or irritable bowel syndrome.

I am sure these three people are receiving health care, especially when they are having a flare up and are not feeling well. To me as a homeopath, when someone is experiencing flare ups often, it means that the root cause of what is bothering the person has not been healed.

Nourishing Soil

I think of soil. When we garden, we want good, nourishing, life giving and sustaining soil in soilwhich our vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, berries, fruits, and anything else we plant can grow. Why wouldn’t we want that kind of soil for ourselves?

The soil of these three people is not well, not nourishing, not life giving to them. We can give medicines to help relieve and alleviate their symptoms, but most of the time, these medicines are not healing the person; the medicines may be easing the symptoms, for a time period, but not healing.

flowers-113503_1280Homeopathy heals at the root cause of what is bothering someone. It is healing the soil of the person. When the soil is healthier, the person experiences less flare ups of their health concern, to possibly no flare ups. The person can bloom and flourish.

Homeopathy To Heal

When I meet with a patient, I observe them, listening to their language, and how they express themselves. With a child, I ask the mother and father to tell and to actually show me how the child responds and behaves to what is happening to them. What is the expression of the child? How do they move? What sounds do they make? For any age of the patient, it is always finding out about the individual person.

I would also want to know:

  • What would they say is bothering them the most?
  • How do they experience what bothers them?
  • What was happening before they started to have this health concern – shingles, ear infection, or colitis.
  • What happens right before the flare ups?
  • How do they experience the shingles, ear infection or colitis – what makes it better or worse?
  • For the child, what was the mother’s pregnancy like? How was the birth like?
  • Temperament?
  • Fears?
  • Other issues and sensitivities?

What Is Your Soil Like?

What is the soil like in your garden? Do you, or a loved one, experience an ongoing health issue with flare ups, such as ear infections, digestive issues, shingles, herpes, headaches, eczema or other skin eruptions, menstrual issues, chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, or any other health concern?

Let’s talk and see how homeopathy would be a good fit for you. You can contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

Why Would You Want a Holistic Healing With Homeopathy?

I had written my personal “why” in the post WHY DO I PRACTICE HOMEOPATHY? Now, I would like to write what your “why” may be.

(Simon Sinek writes about your “why” in his book “Start With Why”.)

*******

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Wanting to feel better. Whether it is regarding a physical condition or an emotional      concern.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Wanting a deep healing. Wanting a healing that goes to the root of where the               sunset-with-bluessymptoms that you are experiencing and bothering you are coming from.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Wanting a healing, and not a palliating nor a band aid. Perhaps you are tired of taking medications that are not healing, and that may also be producing side effects that in some ways are worse than what the medication is being given for.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Wanting to be heard. Wanting to be in a safe, protective environment, where whatever you say, show, or share is seen and heard. Being seen as the individual that you are.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Understanding that you are not a label. You are not the diagnosed “disease” name. You are your own unique being.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Wanting all of your being to be better. The physical, the emotional, the mental, the spiritual. And knowing that all parts are connected, that you are not just one part. That you are a whole being.

Why would you want a holistic healing using homeopathy?

Knowing that you are a being that has a wonderful ability to heal yourself – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. And that to tap into that healing ability, you sometimes need help in the form of guidance and nurturing.

Healing The Child, And The Whole Family With Homeopathy

I enjoy working with children and their families. Children respond very well to homeopathy. Their vital energy, vital force, chi is very strong. That is why you see that a child will often be suddenly ill, run higher fevers than adults do, and then are better, quickly. A child’s response moves fast, and sometimes seems to be extreme.

What I See In My Homeopathic Practice

In my practice, I have seen children for many different health concerns. Some of them are:

  • Various skin eruptions – eczema, vitiligo                                                                             child-looking-at-sea
  • Behavior issues that come from feeling angry, sad, fearful
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Chronic ear infections and earaches
  • On going cough
  • Digestive issues – stomachaches
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Headaches

With some of the children I have seen, I have thought that seeing the parents, or one of the parents, would be helpful for the child’s healing. The family is a whole and the members of the family make up this whole. What happens in the family, and to one of the members, can often influence and affect the family as a unit and its members, such as the child that has come for homeopathic treatment. Life happens. Some of these life happenings are:

  • The interactions between family members
  • The health history of the family members – present, and even going back a few generations
  • The cultural background and influences
  • The changes that the family has experienced, such as moving to a new country, a new state, a new school, a new job for a parent
  • The changes in the family unit itself, such as a separation/divorce, a death, a birth, a marriage.
  • The changes in living conditions – physically, environmentally, emotionally
  • The health of the family members – ongoing illness

A Family

A family to me is a group who consider themselves close. They may live together. They family-in-chalkmay not live together. The parents could be a mom and dad, two moms, two dads, one mom, one dad, a grandparent, a sibling, a friend, another relative. The child can be biological, adopted, be born by a surrogate mother. A family can be two people, and many, many more. An animal, a dog or a cat, can also be part of the family. A family is what the people themselves consider as their family.

Healing – The Child And The Family

I often see that as a child does better, in their health, the family does better too. And the same can be said that as the family does better, the child does better.

What The Body Feels And Says

“The whole body weeps when it is invaded.”

This line is from the book BUDDHA IN THE WAITING ROOM written by Paul Brenner. MD. When I read this line, I cried. It touched something in me personally, and I think it probably does for other people as well.

This line is in a paragraph in which Dr. Brenner is writing about the implications someone  trees-1767119__480would experience after having surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. It could also be when someone has experienced any kind of abuse, emotional damage, physical pain or trauma, an on going physical condition, mental pain and more. It pertains to any kind of “invasion”.

What struck me about this line, was not the being invaded, but that the body weeps. To me it meant that the body, the whole being of the person, has some recall, memory, or retention of something happening to it. That even though time has passed, and the person is doing well in their life and in their health, there may be some lingering of the past, and is expressed in symptoms, discomfort, pain, emotions, anything. To me this is what the weeping means.

The weeping may be a way of asking for help, for help in a healing, a deep healing at the root cause. The weeping is saying, hey, I am still here, listen to me, listen to what I have to say, and help me heal.

There are a lot of different healing modalities. The best are the ones that resonate with you. And possibly that means resonates with the weeping, to help to hear what the body is saying.

If I can be of any help, homeopathically, please contact me here through this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.

And I suggest Dr. Paul Brenner’s book BUDDHA IN THE WAITING ROOM.

Our Triggers

Events happen in our lives. Events that are personal, political, and global. These events may trigger emotions, feelings, thoughts, behaviors, symptoms, physical states, and memories. Our buttons have been pushed. It is natural that this happens.

As we experience this, we may in a way take a look at what is happening. How do we feel? What are our responses, and what are we responding to? Are we reacting to the present or to the past? Does this event remind us of something or someone that we know? What actions or no actions do we take?

We may be just affected for a brief time, and then feel better. Or the affect may linger, and balls-knocking-into-ballswe are not able to move forward at all. We are stuck, with whatever has been triggered within us, affecting us physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This is a good time to take care of ourselves.

In My Practice

As a patient tells me what is bothering them, often a physical complaint, I hear about events and relationships that have happened to them in their life. They may be talking about present or post relationships or events. No matter when this occurred in time, it still is affecting them, and triggering them.

As the person is talking and describing their experience, specific words and language are used, often accompanied with hand gestures. The person’s words/language/hand gestures represent what and where their sensitivity lies, and how they experience their world. In a way I am learning the person’s language, which helps me to better understand their world, how they experience what happens to them, and what it is that bothers them about their symptoms.

Two Women

One woman is experiencing pains in her neck and shoulder. The pains are almost all the time. She accepts the pains, and has experienced them most of her life. She talks about an old relationship. In some ways this relationship is still present because of her connection to this person through other people. Recently there has been more of a connection with this person. This has been a trigger. What she says and shows helps guide me as a homeopath in selecting the homeopathic remedy that will be healing for her. The homeopathic remedy will be for her emotional state, and for the neck and shoulder pains she experiences. Homeopathy treats the whole person.

Another woman has a flare up of an abscess in scar tissue. This seems to happen when she is feeling angry at others, at herself, and/or what happens in her life. She takes it out on herself, feeling very angry about herself and her life. Often some event or interaction will happen, triggering something within her, and then manifesting in both emotional (anger) and physical (the abscess) symptoms. Since using the homeopathic remedy that is similar to her, she has been noticing these triggers when they balance-15712__180occur, and has become much more in touch with her feelings and responses. She has become more proactive in her self care. The flare ups in the scar tissue are becoming less severe, and are taking less time to heal. Homeopathy is stimulating a deep healing within her.

Our Triggers

When an event occurs in our life, it may be a trigger to past or present relationships, circumstances, events, behaviors, feelings and more. (I think for some people this past election may have been a trigger for some people.) When we do experience a trigger, it is a good time to help ourselves. The affects we are experiencing at this time are more on the surface and more prominent, and are therefore more readily expressed and available, making it a good time to start a healing process.

Are you being triggered?

I invite you to contact me here or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com. I would be happy to talk with you.

And to all my American friends and readers, thank you for reading my blog, and I wish you a wonderful and yummy Thanksgiving!
