This weekend I went to the beach. I walked on the beach. I waded a little bit in the water. The sun was strong, but there was a cool breeze. I had the hood of my sweatshirt up. There were ospreys flying in the sky, many of them, in a line of 8 or more. And several lines of them, flying, meeting up with each other. They were flying up and down the coast. When I last saw them, they were heading up north and then gone, I couldn’t see them anymore. I know that they would be coming south again.
I have been going to the beach more often than usual since last August. In August through October, I went in the ocean. I wanted to be in the water. Since November, I have been walking the beach. The beach is Ocean Beach, in San Diego. I look forward to when it is warmer and I will go into the ocean again.
Seeing the ocean, the Pacific Ocean, and the beach at different times of the year has been fascinating. It changes. Last month, in February there were huge hills of sand on the beach, to protect from storms and erosion. The sand hills were man made. And there were at least 4 feet high piles of seaweed. The seaweed and hills of sand were not there this weekend. How the beach changes, yet it is still the beach, the ocean, the tides, the birds, the waves, the shells.
Changes. Nothing really stays the same. Things change.
We change.
HOMEOPATHY TO HEAL
I often say to patients when they have an acute issue, like a flu or a cold, that if the symptoms are not changing or moving, you are stuck, and let’s do something homeopathically to help move things. In a way you want change, you want things to move. A chronic ongoing health issue is being stuck, stuck in those symptoms.
Health is movement, change and being able to adapt.
