Homeopathy Is Part of Someone’s Ongoing Health Care

Several weeks ago, I received an email from a patient that I had seen 12 years ago. Actually, the email was from the mother of a patient I seen when he was 5 years old.

What was bothering the son 12 years ago, was bothering him now. Granted, his circumstances were different. He was now in college and living in a different state. His clay spiralmother wanted to know what the homeopathic remedy was that he had used years ago, and possibly if he could use it again.

I keep the files of  my patients that I have seen over the years. As I was reading his file, I remembered the case. I don’t think I could describe the boy physically or how he looked, but I remembered the case, and what led me to selecting the homeopathic remedy that was given.

I emailed the mother back, telling her the homeopathic remedy, and what the cost would be for the remedy and for it to be sent to her son. I also said that there is a possibility that her son’s state has changed, and a different  homeopathic remedy would be needed now. And that it would be best to come in for an appointment. The mother agreed, and so did her son. We thought of doing a Skype appointment since he was out of state. But with his schedule being so busy, it was decided that he would see me in December during his winter break, and see me in person.

In the meantime, I sent him the homeopathic remedy that he took in the past, with the understanding that it may work or not work this time. I suggested that he be in touch with me 10 days after taking the remedy to let me know how he was doing.

It was very gratifying to hear from this mother, and knowing that homeopathy had helped her son so many years ago. And now, they were looking to homeopathy for the  present situation, and reaching out for help. I often see in my practice how homeopathy has become a part of my patients’ ongoing health care. When they need help they contact me. This mother’s email was an example and a reminder of homeopathy being part of one’s ongoing health care. It felt good.

Burns – The Homeopathic Remedy Cantharis Helps To Heal

I want to continue with some tips for first aid situations.

Burns.

If it is a very bad burn, or you feel you need to have your physician look at it, do that. Peace of mind is always valuable.

A Personal Story

About 12 days ago, when I was making dinner, I inadvertently picked up a plate that was siting on a burner on the stove with my left hand. I immediately responded, dropping/putting the plate  down as carefully and as quickly as I could. The middle, inner areas of my second and third fingers were burned.  It stung.  It hurt. Blisters started forming almost immediately. I put a cool, wet cloth on the fingers. I also put some Calendula cream on while I got the homeopathic remedy Cantharis 30C.

I dissolved 3 – 4 pellets of Cantharis in 1/2 glass of filtered, spring water.  I took one Cantharis_30cteaspoonful of the dissolved remedy, and continued to do that, every 1/4 of an hour, then every 1/2 hour and then hourly.  Each time I took a dose, I stirred the dissolved remedy three times. In a first aid situation, taking the homeopathic remedy frequently is very helpful.

Within an hour after starting the remedy, the pain was gone.

Although, I was feeling better, I took another dose of the remedy the next morning. A dissolved homeopathic remedy is good for 24 hours.

As I wrote above, blisters formed almost immediately after the burn occurred. Over the next 4 days I was very careful about my hand. I didn’t want anything to bump against the area to break open the blisters, and I keep the areas very clean.  The areas continued to be painless.

On the fourth night, I noticed there was a slight oozing of a clear fluid from one of the blisters. I covered that blister with a gauze bandage, keeping the bandage on during the night and the next day. The following evening, I removed the bandage, and the blister was gone. Actually the blister had flattened.  The other blister had not oozed, but had also flattened. I think our bodies absorb the liquid. It is part of the innate healing abilities that our bodies do so well.

I did not bandage the area again.  I let the area be exposed to air. I am still being  careful with the use of my hand. Again no pain. I continue to watch the areas. The skin that is the flattened blister, continues to protect the burned areas, like a scab.  I expect the skin to start to peel off.  I use Calendula cream to help with the dryness of the skin. And I will continue to use the cream as needed, and if any tenderness or redness develops.

I have not taken any more doses of Cantharis. A homeopathic remedy stimulates the person’s own healing. If I started to feel some discomfort again, I would have taken another dose of Cantharis.

The Homeopathic Remedy Cantharis

Cantharis may be used in first aid, acute and chronic conditions. If it fits how the person is feeling, then it is used. For first aid situations, it is a wonderful remedy for burns. Also, it is helpful when someone is experiencing an urinary tract infection. Someone who would benefit from using Cantharis experiences pains that are cutting, smarting and burning. For UTIs, urination is very painful. I wrote a previous post about UTIs and mentioned Cantharis as one of the homeopathic remedies that can be helpful.

Suggested The Use Of Cantharis

Over the years, several of my patients and a yoga classmate have experienced burns, usually while they were cooking. I suggested Cantharis for them, taking it similarly to the way I did. All of them said how how helpful it was in the relief of the pain and the discomfort of the burn, and in helping to heal the area.
