One day, when I was sitting in my consultation room, I heard a sound outside the patio door. I looked outside, and there in the mulberry tree was a little bird. It is a bird I had never seen before. It was maybe 7 inches long. It’s back was a black and white pattern, and it’s head was bright red. It was pecking at the tree. It walked from one place to another, pecking. I watched the bird for awhile. I had had the tree cut back recently, which I do every year, so the tree was very bare and open. That is why I could see the bird so clearly.
I immediately looked on the internet to see what kind of bird it was. I first thought it was a Red-Bellied Woodpecker, and then realized it was a Ladder Back Woodpecker, which is native to the southwest. This made more sense. And the next day, the bird or its friend, came back, pecking on my tree.
I was thinking as I was watching the bird, that it was doing what it knows how to do. It was being itself – looking for food, and perhaps it found some food, and then moving on to find more. It was being who it is.
What We Want
That is really what we all want – we want to be who we truly are – to love, to be loved, to do work that we enjoy, to enjoy our lives, to enjoy our relationships with friends and family. And to be healthy so we can do and be these things. To be who we are.
Someone may have a health issue that makes it difficult for them to take part in life. He can be tired all the time. She needs to know where the bathrooms are located when she goes out, because she has chronic diarrhea. He needs to watch very strictly what he eats. She doesn’t have an appetite and feels nausea all the time. He is not better from an accident that occurred awhile ago. He has pains and discomfort in his hands. She has ongoing flare ups of breathing difficulties. She is anxious and fearful for herself and her loved ones. He is constantly scratching his arms. These are some of what may bother people to the extent that it affects their life. They can’t truly be who they are.
Healing – Being Who You Are – Being You
A healing with homeopathy is of the whole person. The complaint that brought the person in for homeopathic care is better, AND, the person is feeling better in themselves. For one of my patients, her complaint was better. She wasn’t experiencing heart flutterings as much, or at all, AND, she was feeling more energetic. She was doing more activities during the day and having plenty of energy to do so. She said she was feeling like herself again. I could see this in her face.
It is not that the person is changed when having homeopathic care; it is that he can be more of who he is. He is no longer being bogged down and hindered with a physical, emotional or mental health issue, which has been limiting how he lives his live and how he is out in the world. As he is healing, he becomes more of himself. Just as the bird was pecking on my tree, being who he is, the person is being who he is.
I invite you to contact me if you are wanting to feel better and be who you are. Either contact me here on this blog or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.
