A Trauma – Homeopathy Heals

Homeopathy is very helpful for any kind of trauma – a fall, from an accident, a head injury or a concussion, a broken bone, a surgery, a deep cut, dental work, a sprained car-accident-98760_960_720muscle, an emotional upset or loss, an abuse, a wartime experience, an overdose of medications/drugs and more. At these times, homeopathic remedies can be used to help as in first aid care. The homeopathic remedy Arnica montana is very helpful. (Read more about Arnica montana.)

The Affects After A Trauma

Sometimes, the trauma takes a longer time to heal than might have been expected. There may be lingering affects or symptoms, or even an exasperation of a health issue may arise after having experiencing a trauma. These after affects manifest in different ways, such as in:

  • behavioral changes – withdrawal, angry outbursts, tantrums
  • bad dreams, nightmares or night terrors, (day terrors too)
  • difficulty sleeping
  • fears and phobias
  • eating disorders
  • anxiousness, depression, lethargy, fatigue
  • sadness and weeping
  • particular physical symptoms – headaches, vertigo, digestive issues, skin eruptions, respiratory and breathing difficulties, eye strain, memory loss, difficulty focusing
  • not able to do tasks that were done before – physical and mental tasks
  • a feeling of not being oneself – “I am not the way I was before the trauma or accident”
  • difficulties in personal relationships

Someone may say, I have done different healing modalities. These modalities have helped me, but I am not back to where I was before the accident. There is about 20% that is not healed. I am not 100% myself, the way I was before the accident. And I notice this (20%) when I do certain activities. I still feel discomfort. I have this particular pain when I do a certain task. I can’t go out and meet people. I have no energy. I can’t attend and focus on my activities and work. I get so angry.

In My Homeopathic Practice

scene of waterI see people in my homeopathic practice who have experienced a trauma – a physical, an emotional, and a situational one. I see people of all ages for this – young children through older adults. The trauma can be new, and the trauma can be old. Homeopathy has helped and healed these people.

The initial “hurt” of the trauma, how the person responded to the trauma, how it has affected their life, what changes have occurred, how they experience the “hurt” of the trauma are all important. In addition to this, the homeopath learns about the individual person – their history, their sensitivities, their fears, what bothers them, their dreams and more. All of this adds to the whole and the totality of the person.

By addressing the wholeness of the person, and not just only the trauma, a deep healing can occur. It is no longer a first aid situation; it has become more of a chronic state that the person is experiencing. Addressing the whole person may be what is needed for someone who has had a trauma to experience a deep and lasting healing.

This particular door was probably built this way to fit the space of the entrance to the building. And the building may have been built on a hill. The photo gives the impression of being off, and it is a little bit unsettling to look at it.

This unsettling and off feeling may be the way someone experiences vertigo. In addition to being dizzy, the person may also feel discomfort in other parts of their body, such as in their digestion, vision, sense of balance, emotions, hearing, head, and more.

Vertigo Is Different For Each Person

This list will give you an idea how differently people can experience vertigo.

  • During menses
  • With nausea
  • Aggravated by motion
  • When lying down
  • When turning around in bed
  • Upon raising up                                                                                                                            whirligig-773644_960_720
  • When raising their head
  • With staggering
  • When riding in a boat, a car, on horseback
  • After an accident or trauma
  • While walking
  • When stooping
  • Vomiting when feeling dizzy
  • During the morning, afternoon, evening, or night
  • Heat – during, before, from being
  • Closing eyes
  • Looking downward, to left side, to right side
  • After fright
  • After an emotional upset
  • When someone has an ear infection
  • And more

Healing With Homeopathy

From the hearing, observing, and witnessing how the person experiences their vertigo, the homeopath chooses the homeopathic remedy that fits this particular person. In homeopathy, it is always learning about the individual, and addressing the wholeness of this person.

Do you experience feeling off? Do you have vertigo? Have you used some healing modalities that helped you at first, but are not healing any longer? Has the vertigo returned? Feeling dizzy consistently in your life is a difficult way to live.

My Mulberry Tree – A Description of Wholeness

In my backyard, there is a big, beautiful, non-bearing fruit Mulberry Tree. At this time of year, January, the leaves are turning yellow, and falling to the ground. When I haven’t raked up the leaves, the ground is covered with yellow. Almost like it has snowed yellow, and a little bit of green and brown.

To have a walkway for my patients to come to my consultation room, I need to sweep away the leaves, making a path for them. The image of shoveling snow comes to me as I am sweeping the leaves to make the pathway.

It takes about 4 weeks or more for all the leaves to fall off the tree. As I am raking the leaves, I thank the tree for all the shade and coolness it has given me during the summer. Once all the leaves are gone, I have the tree trimmed back. It is a very fast growing tree. I need to do trim the tree every year.

There are a lot of parts to the tree: the leaves, the trunk, the bark, the branches, the roots, and the blossoms in the spring. It often is a home for birds who have made their nests in it. There is a cycle of life to the tree – birth, blooming, being in full splendor, dying off, dormancy, and rebirth. The fullness of the tree provides shade, and is pleasant to sit under it when it is so full. It is majestic and beautiful. All of these components – the physical elements, what the tree provides, and signifies all make up the wholeness of the tree.

Both of the photos are of my mulberry tree.

We Are A Whole Being

We are like the tree. We are a wholeness. We have parts. The parts of our bodies – our skin, our organs, our limbs, our blood vessels, our genes, our blood, and more. We have our emotions – we express, respond and react to things that happen in our lives. We have our thoughts, our dreams, our behaviors, our interests, our wants and desires, our sensitivities, our loves, our fears, our relationships, what we give, what we do, what we create, and more. We have cycles – menstrual, birth, sleep, digestion, and growth. All together, all these parts make up the whole of each of us. The parts are connected and interrelated with each other. We are a wholeness.

When someone becomes ill, injured, or has a traumatic situation we can’t just treat one part of the body or just one symptom. We need to see, know, and understand the totality and the wholeness of the person. This is what homeopathy does so well. Homeopathy is truly a holism form of medicine.

Are You Feeling Run Down? Homeopathy Can Help

We lead very busy lives. Work, family, commitments, responsibilities, even leisure activities. We live a fast paced life. Always busy, always having things that need to be done, going non-stop. And we experience a constant bombardment of information from the media.

Taking a break, resting, taking a day off is often a very good idea. Sometimes though, we don’t do this on our own, and our body says we  relaxingneed to. We need to rest; we need to take time off. What happens is that we may start to not feel well. We feel tired. We come down with something – a flu, a cold, a headache, a stomachache, a sore throat. We may experience a flare-up of an ongoing health issue, such as with our digestion, asthmatic symptoms, fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin eruptions and more. Our body is saying, hey, if you don’t take time off and slow down, I will make it so you have to take time off and slow down.

Does this sound a little familiar?

Being Run Down

I am writing this blog after the holiday season. At this time of the year, we have been so busy with family and friends, traveling, making preparations, shopping, going to and hosting parties, fulfilling expectations, eating, and more. And we may have not taken time to be quiet, and have down time. We have become run down.

It is very common to feel run down at this time of the year. It is good to take a day off, to take time for ourselves. And it is always good to listen to our bodies and to our inner voice on how we feel. To honor when we need to take time for ourselves.

Healing With Homeopathy

If this is happening very often to you, and you are feeling run down, becoming sick, and/or having flare-ups of a chronic condition on a regular basis, I invite you to schedule time for yourself, and to see how homeopathy can be of help to you in your health.

I would be very happy to talk with you further about your particular health concern. You can contact me here on this blog, or through my website www.homeopathytoheal.com.  I have a 15 minute Get Acquainted Call.

What Is Itching You? – Skin Eruptions And Homeopathy

Recently, I was in my local health food store. I was talking to one of the sales people who I have known for a long time. A woman came up to the sales person and said, I am the woman who called earlier about a product for my daughter to help remove skin tags. We all three were standing in the aisle where the homeopathic remedies were located, and that particular product was right in front of us. After the woman left, I looked at the product. It was a box, on which was written “Thuja Occidentalis Homeopathic”. I believe it was an ointment or a liquid that was used topically. (The plant Thuja Occidentalis is made into a homeopathic remedy. The wasn’t the homeopathic remedy of Thuja Occidentalis.)

This interaction inspired me to write about skin eruptions. I have written a little bit about this topic before in two earlier posts. One post talked about eczema, and the other post was in reference to Direction of Cure. I have given the links here.

Skin Eruptions

I know that many people, of all ages, suffer with different kinds of skin eruptions. A skin eruption can be eczema, psoriasis, impetigo, acne, skin irritationrosacea, cysts, boils, warts, skin tags, pustules, hives, or other rashes. They are experienced as being:

  • painful
  • a nerve type pain, such as in shingles
  • a burning pain
  • an itchiness
  • a soreness
  • a redness
  • an inflammation
  • swollen
  • an oozing and discharging of pus or blood
  • become scabbed
  • a dryness
  • a roughness
  • a scaliness and flakiness
  • an embarrassment
  • worrisome
  • a discomfort
  • wanting to hide it and cover it up
  • affecting one’s functioning ability at work and in social situations
  • more

Not Just On The Skin

Please note that I have listed physical sensations AND emotional responses AND how it affects one. I say this because skin eruptions are not just on the skin. They are a reflection of something deeper in the body, stairs spiralthat is manifesting on the skin. To just care for the skin eruption by doing something topically on the skin, such as this treatment that the woman was going to use for her daughter, is not necessarily healing, and is not addressing where the skin eruption is coming from.

A skin eruption is a response or a reaction of something deeper in the body or system of the person. These can be from:

  • an allergic reaction to foods, chemicals, toxins, fabrics, medicines or others substances in the person’s environment.
  • a systemic imbalance.
  • a hormonal change or part of a cycle. It get even be a response to birth control medication – when starting, during or stopping the medication.
  • a reaction to stress, anxiety, grief, fear, or other emotions. I know of a woman who developed hives soon after her husband passed away.
  • a part of the healing that accompanies a fever, such as in the measles and chicken pox. The rash in these childhood diseases are important and part of the healing process. You want the rash to be present.

Homeopathy To Heal

Homeopathy is very healing for people who suffer with skin eruptions. Homeopathy heals at the root of where the symptoms are coming from, in this case, where the skin eruptions are coming from. Each person experiences what bothers them differently. With the understanding of the person’s suffering, a homeopathic remedy that is similar to this is given. This homeopathic remedy stimulates the person’s own healing process. The person feels better in themselves, and the symptoms that brought them in for homeopathic care are better. In this case, the skin eruptions are better.

To Continue My Story

After the mother had left, I said to the sales person, I would want to know what bothers the daughter. Perhaps the skin tags bother the mother more than they do the daughter. And in fact, they don’t bother the daughter at all. If the skin tags do bother the daughter, I would want to know how she experiences them. It is always finding out about the person, what bothers them, and how they experience it. It is not just treating someone with a one size fits all product.
