Homeopathy is very helpful for any kind of trauma – a fall, from an accident, a head injury or a concussion, a broken bone, a surgery, a deep cut, dental work, a sprained muscle, an emotional upset or loss, an abuse, a wartime experience, an overdose of medications/drugs and more. At these times, homeopathic remedies can be used to help as in first aid care. The homeopathic remedy Arnica montana is very helpful. (Read more about Arnica montana.)
The Affects After A Trauma
Sometimes, the trauma takes a longer time to heal than might have been expected. There may be lingering affects or symptoms, or even an exasperation of a health issue may arise after having experiencing a trauma. These after affects manifest in different ways, such as in:
- behavioral changes – withdrawal, angry outbursts, tantrums
- bad dreams, nightmares or night terrors, (day terrors too)
- difficulty sleeping
- fears and phobias
- eating disorders
- anxiousness, depression, lethargy, fatigue
- sadness and weeping
- particular physical symptoms – headaches, vertigo, digestive issues, skin eruptions, respiratory and breathing difficulties, eye strain, memory loss, difficulty focusing
- not able to do tasks that were done before – physical and mental tasks
- a feeling of not being oneself – “I am not the way I was before the trauma or accident”
- difficulties in personal relationships
Someone may say, I have done different healing modalities. These modalities have helped me, but I am not back to where I was before the accident. There is about 20% that is not healed. I am not 100% myself, the way I was before the accident. And I notice this (20%) when I do certain activities. I still feel discomfort. I have this particular pain when I do a certain task. I can’t go out and meet people. I have no energy. I can’t attend and focus on my activities and work. I get so angry.
In My Homeopathic Practice
I see people in my homeopathic practice who have experienced a trauma – a physical, an emotional, and a situational one. I see people of all ages for this – young children through older adults. The trauma can be new, and the trauma can be old. Homeopathy has helped and healed these people.
The initial “hurt” of the trauma, how the person responded to the trauma, how it has affected their life, what changes have occurred, how they experience the “hurt” of the trauma are all important. In addition to this, the homeopath learns about the individual person – their history, their sensitivities, their fears, what bothers them, their dreams and more. All of this adds to the whole and the totality of the person.
By addressing the wholeness of the person, and not just only the trauma, a deep healing can occur. It is no longer a first aid situation; it has become more of a chronic state that the person is experiencing. Addressing the whole person may be what is needed for someone who has had a trauma to experience a deep and lasting healing.
