I am a homeopath. I am a patient too. I see a homeopath. I don’t self treat for homeopathic care. I may self treat for first aid, and there were several times I did for chronic conditions, but I don’t now. I cannot be objective, nor can I really hear and observe myself. I can’t wear two hats at the same time – the patient and the homeopath.
My Story
This last week, my homeopath gave me a new homeopathic remedy. This happens. The homeopath sees the case deeper, some things change, or there is a better understanding of the person’s complaints and suffering. A different homeopathic remedy is needed than to what was given before. This new homeopathic remedy was in the same family, the same kingdom, of the one I had just be taking. The former homeopathic remedy had helped, but did not heal as deeply as is possible with homeopathy.
With taking this new homeopathic remedy, an old condition or symptom that I had before, came back. I had suppressed this condition, this situation by using antibiotics when it had first occurred. With the process of healing from a homeopathic remedy, the vital force, the chi, the immune system, becomes stronger, and the symptoms or conditions that were suppressed by the use of medications, such as antibiotics and steroids (cream and oral form) may come back. These symptoms/conditions come back for a short time, and then they are gone. It is healing. In a previous blog, I had written about THE DIRECTION OF CURE. That is what this is. It is a good sign that the remedy is helping and healing, stimulating the person’s own healing process.
That is what was happening with me. The antibiotics that I had taken had been suppressive, and now there was a return of older symptoms/conditions, as I was healing. I knew that was what was happening to me, and it was a good thing. I contacted my homeopath and told him, and he agreed with me. In fact what he said was “this is a good thing”. I slept. I took care of the area that was affected. I took care of me. I wasn’t very hungry, but what I did eat was of plant type food, so to speak. Vegetarian. Nourishing food. Life giving food.
Yes, there is a place and a need for antibiotics. They can be extremely helpful, and life saving. And, they can be overused. When I had this situation originally, I could have treated it homeopathically. I didn’t. At first, I didn’t know what was going on with the discomfort and the pain that I was experiencing, and I waited. Then I went to the doctor. The doctor prescribed antibiotics. This happens.
Healing
With the healing of old, suppressed symptoms and conditions, the body, the chi, the vital force, the person, becomes stronger and healthier. This healing affects the whole person, on all levels – the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual. It is all good. Homeopathy creates a deep healing. It is a healing at the root from where the symptoms and conditions come.
Much of what western medicine does in its treatment can be suppressive. Yes, the person feels better because the symptoms are not as strong, the itch may be gone, the pain may be gone, but only for a short time until the medication is taken again. We may very often think that a healing has occurred if we no longer have the symptoms, or have less of them, but we need to take a medication often and regularly so there are no symptoms. This isn’t a healing. It is a palliating, and can also be suppressing too.
Healing With Homeopathy
For me, this experience shows how well homeopathy heals, and how well it addresses each of us, as the individual person we are. My health concern was heard, observed, and understood. The homeopathic remedy given to me, being similar to what I was experiencing (Like Cures Like) stimulated my own body to heal. To heal, not to palliate, not to ease the symptoms, and not to suppress. To heal.
